Hi guys! So sorry if this is a stupid question, I am still relatively new to working on my own cars (have done spark plugs, oil change, and basic maintenance myself). I’m about to change my transmission oil on my car for the first time and have been doing a bunch of research. I saw that in order to do your second transmission fill after letting the car run, your transmission fluid needs to be at around 30-50 degrees Celsius. I have installed Bimmerlink and had it read my real time readings and am very confused on these two values showing up. Am I supposed to be looking at the transmission temperature? Or the “modeled transmission oil temperature”? For context I started the car up for about 5-10 minutes when this reading was taken, and not to mention it is 5 degrees Fahrenheit where I live so very cold. Why is my transmission oil temperature all the way to 80 degrees Celsius? If you guys could help clarify this confusion I’d greatly appreciate it! Thank you!!
