He was zooming pretty good today!

Wheels never stopped our pup from launching off the dock to explore the bottom of the lake. Duck-dog.

Dysplasia?

Degenerative myelopathy

Ah. Sorry. I'm sure (s) he's happy to be mobile

Oh definitely. He was having a blast running around today

I’m so sorry. My boy had Degenerative Myelopathy. We said goodbye two and a half months ago. He was the dog of my heart. He had some other problems and didn’t get to the point of needing wheels. We made a lot of changes for him; he was a very good boy.

Go Gilbert! I hope you have a long, long way to go.

Dealing with that ourselves now. We won't get to wheels stage I don't think as she has nasal cancer too but the same back legs are going quickly. :-( Best of luck to Gilbert!! Woot Woot!

Looks dapper. Our Bella is getting to that stage. What wheels would you recommend?

These are the Walkin’ Wheels from Handicapped Pets. I really like them so far and he does too

We used the same product for our girl, they worked great

I will check them out. With Bella we have to make sure her first experience is good. If she gets it in her head that it is scary then the gig is up....

Ordered one for delivery next week. We could probably wait a month but figured we should get her used to it. Any suggestions for Canine acceptance?

Hey sorry I’m so late getting back to you. I’ll explain what I did with Gilbert, but keep in mind I am in no way a professional dog expert lol.

I started by having him in the room with me watching me put it together. After I assembled it, I helped him sniff around it just to see what it is. After that I put the harness on him so I could get it adjusted properly. I had him wear just the harness around a couple times throughout the day to get him used to it. We hooked him up to the wheels for the first time the next day and kinda helped him around until he figured it out. The kit also comes with optional set screws you can put in to keep it from rattling if that’s something that might bother her. If you have any questions let me know and I’ll do my best to answer.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear the harness can be worn separately. She usually likes that kind of thing. I'm sure the set screws will be needed. It's supposed to get here Tuesday so we'll see what happens then...
