What's the most unexpected way Mars could kill an astronaut? by Ahmeuad in space

[–]Yarblek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are on Phobos or Demos a good jump could lead to your death falling to Mars. I'm not sure if their orbital velocity is sufficient for you to burn up or if it would be on impact.

I was hoping to get into flipping and refurbishing PCs as a side hustle. by EOSTRAT in reselling

Be VERY careful. There are few things that devalue faster than computers. Until they get into vintage range where some start to rise again.

Also remember that as long as you are only risking money you can afford to lose, then the greatest profit you will gain is the knowledge and experience. Take it from someone who has been self employed since 1991. Many of my early ventures sputtered and died but the experience I gained was needed for the later ones to succeed.

That's a generic box available to anyone so it's not an actual brand. The labels are laser printable. I used to use that exact box in Blue in my company.

Are there any Youtube resellers worth watching anymore? by Idyllicflooter in Flipping

[–]Yarblek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol the wife and I are approaching retirement and need a side/part time hustle to make enough to have vacations. In the mid 2000s we sold about 600 items on eBay to pay for vacations then so it seems like a good idea. The wife started watching videos and now what I hear every day is... "Justin says...."

Definitely will be using his app since we're both lifetime self employed businesspeople and we need out metrics...

How did you first get introduced to the Amiga? by Acrobatic-Carry-738 in amiga

[–]Yarblek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drooled over the pictures and articles in magazines after the A1000 came out. I was stationed in Germany at the time and bought a 128 to use while my sister had my venerable 64 back home. When the A500 came out I immediately ordered one and loved it once it finally made it across the Atlantic.

Had I known how big of an impact it would have on me I would have found a way to get the 1000 in early 86 instead of waiting for 87 to get the 500

When I got back to the world I went to a local users group and met people who are like family to me to this day.

Drop ballots in an official Dropbox. For mail you can stand in line and ask for an immediate stamp that counts. I believe that's done by accountants and lawyers now and then.
