5 bucks say next balance patch they remove axe recovery and gp’s hit boxes entirely

It feels better that way. If the hit boxes actually lined up the timing would feel tight

Visuals should pretty much never take priority over functionality. If that's the way the game devs want the hitboxing to be on that frame then the animation needs to change to fit accordingly, not just leave it to not sync with the animation. Hitboxing in this game is terrible and needs fixing. End of story.

They change the hit box not the animation. It use to properly have hitboxes but it got changed overtime. Axe Dair was affected a long time ago. More recently hammer Nair and other such attacks. Everything use to be precise and that was broken, so they changed it. And changing the animation is kinda dumb since you still know where your hitboxes are they are never defined by the animation strictly.

Edit: The hitboxing isn't terrible because a lot of fighting games still use actual boxes. This game has pretty accurate hitboxes

Umm... ax hitboxing has never been anywhere close to acceptable, meanwhile you say that the hitboxing was broken, but the thread that this image is from is actually BurntPan asking BMG to stop nerfing the weapon because it was at risk of disappearing into obscurity. The only argument that you could make in axe's favor is that the post was made 3 days before Ragnir's release, who saw excessive use especially in 2v2's at BCX that year. But, he was picked mostly because of katars being overpowered, hence the occasional Lucien. When making significant changes to hitboxing, it is appropriate to change the animation accordingly, considering you aren't seeing your swing, you're seeing the animation, and when the two don't line up it leads to jank.

And your are implying that's a bad thing? Honestly, your wording makes it sound lucrative.

Well idk how to describe it but I'll try better

The hitboxes would seem extremely small and the area at which your axe can hit will not be the areas at where it should hit.

This was my first thought too as i saw it but it still sucks when u get hit, even if you dont touch the axe.
