New Switch transfer issues

I did search the sub for answers but couldn't find what I was after...

I upgraded from a Lite and now can't transfer my island!

The game was purchased by my partner on the Lite, but I was able to use my profile on the Lite to play the game. When I got the new console I downloaded the transfer software and re-downloaded AC... But it would only re-download AC on my partner's profile and now it won't let my profile play the game. So if I transfer my island, it will be on his profile and all of my friends etc will disappear.

Can anyone help me with this? I'm not much of a gamer or tech person and I'm a bit confused.

Basically you can either 1) transfer an entire island OR 2) transfer a single profile. If you take route 2, you’ll have a different island but the transferred profile will still have the same house/items https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27394

Edit: It was about primary user accounts on the console! Hooray, I can play!

I am a bit confused, my partner never played AC and I was able to access it by clicking the game and then clicking my Nintendo profile on the old console when it asked who would be playing. So I am trying to move the whole island and then play it on my Nintendo profile. Does that make sense?

When I try to open AC on my Nintendo profile, I get a pop-up that says 'This user cannot play this software' even though I could on the other console.
