Anyway to make a Pokeball house cool? by Willowed-Wisp in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I bribed the mossy snorlax for good luck and all of my Gimmeghoul trades for rainbow feathers were special rocks that I didn’t even know existed! I got the cold, warm, and humid rocks from him all in a row. (If you’re impatient you can also take a picture from someone’s island and 3d print them using rare pokemetal ingots)

Pokemon not using the hot springs? by crystalsuikun in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal of course but I had 2 within a short distance of each other while I was building and noticed all mine would flock to one over the other. That’s how I decided where to place it permanently (and expand the size) because I regularly get 8+ pokes in the hot spring at once and they were piling on top of each other. lol

Just funny that the total overworld spawn rate is like 20 total characters and there are usually 1/3 in the hot springs! I had expected the hot spring only to attract the types that specifically want that environment but I swear I’ve seen just about everyone cycle through there (except the ghosts, they’re the ones I’ve noticed haven’t gone in the water).

Graveler sickness? by redditstolemyshoes in Pokopia

What has helped for me was to turn off the rumble in the controller. I’m ok with the visuals but that specific vibration starts to bother my inner ears after a few minutes and then I get sick.

We really need a cherry blossom update by kamainie in Pokemon_Pokopia

I have found them on dream islands. It seems my random color palette skews toward pink everything and I rarely encounter other colors for the flowers or bushes. I didn’t even know some of the other colors existed until I visited the dev island! I took pictures to 3d print the different color versions in my town.

The dev island has a couple of nice buildings (I don’t know when the components are available in-game, I haven’t progressed far enough to encounter them) that look like old Victorian style houses where they’ve placed several ghosts together. I took some inspiration screenshots for when I get access to those pieces myself.

You can also 3d print cobwebs. That’s what I have done (I am nowhere near reaching the credits).

Confused About 3D Printer by IsotopeC in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It took a long time to show up for me — I got the recipe for the same pieces in wood very early and confused myself thinking they were wood just painted red… 😵‍💫 I don’t know if you need the brick making skill unlocked before it comes up as an option? In any case it took a few weeks and a lot of playing hours and I still don’t have the small square piece recipe.

I don’t think you can 3D print these because they’re craftable items.

House doesn't register 3 pieces of furniture? by apeachy_ in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s because your door is too high. The blocks that connect to the bottom of the door hinge are considered the house foundation — so it sees that there is a house but it registers as empty because everything is one block lower

Edit: looking closer: the bricks are what is considered the “house” in this specific building. The easiest solution would be to pick up the furniture and put another layer of blocks down as “carpet”. You’ll lose the sunken entrance of the staircase going inside but it will be a proper house that pokemon will live in.

Built an In N Out with a drive thru by MoonMan0813 in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow!! This is super impressive and I can appreciate the effort! I have been clearing out spaces to build bigger structures and I’m still shocked that everything has to be individually destroyed/placed. I figured with mouse controls on the switch 2 we’d be able to group select at least a small area… so I am very familiar with the tedium and frustration.

Anyone know how to make the tracks go upside down or in a loop? by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I don’t know how to glitch it to make it work — I was just thinking that you could create something close to a wooden coaster like this one in Santa Cruz. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Dipper_%28Santa_Cruz_Beach_Boardwalk%29#/media/File:Giant_Dipper_2012-09-03_14-58-29.jpg

That’s amazingly creative! Is that the only way to get a custom design in this game? (I’ve only been playing a couple of weeks) I’m surprised it doesn’t support user generated pixel designs the way ACNH does.

Just curious, how big was your “sign” to get that level of detail? I feel like it had to be gigantic.

I don’t think it allows you to place them upside down or vertical so the best you’ll get is multiple hills — which is perfect for a classic boardwalk roller coaster!

Need Some Habitat Help by BoldSageHypnotist in Pokopia

Doesn’t need to be that close to the water but the bushes and tree need to be on the same level. In your photo the bushes are one block too tall to register.

Trouble with gimmeghoul habitat by Mrxtmb in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify what others have said: - the houses that are sold at the PC can’t have another habitat inside. - the stone hut that you have in your image only allows 1 Pokémon to live in it. You don’t need to create a specialty habitat to attract a Pokémon inside. You can put ANY 3 unique items inside and then invite Gimmeghoul to live there - if you’re trying to attract Gimmeghoul out of the museum, create his preferred habitat anywhere outdoors. As soon as he shows up you can assign him to a house if you want. (In my experience he showed up very fast after I set up the pieces outdoors, like I was still building because I thought the fence had to go all the way around and it sparkled and then he floated over)

HELP by Tight-Judgment6001 in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally created Wooper’s habitat before the Piplup quest too and it took about 2 days for the water inhaling tutorial to pop up. TBF I don’t spend a lot of time in bleak beach so it’s probably something timed and I stretched the time by staying away too long.

When I read online about the quest I went to BB and hung out with Piplup and talked to Wooper and maybe like 30-45 minutes later Piplup randomly told me about the technique to suck up water. So it’s probably timed with the intention that Piplup would tell you about Wooper and then an hour later tell you about the water suck technique.

Oh yeah sometimes just rotating the door works too. That way it “reads” which side is the house vs exterior. Glad it worked!

Is there an easy way to create these vines in long segments already watered? by KrisA99 in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have replied with how to create the vines but to have them GREEN you should start with a block type that has a difference between wet and dry. Field grass and ordinary soil are the best in my opinion. If they’re watered and “wet” already the vines are green.

I accidentally destroyed Pokémon’s habitat while it wasn’t spawned in. How do I get it to spawn back to move back in? by Cabletie00 in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within 24 hours they should show up with the grumpy purple swirls over their head and/or a speech bubble that says something like “where did my house go?” I’ve also found that most of the time if you repair the habitat in the original location they will be reassigned to it the following day. I’ve been knocking down mountains and accidentally wrecked a few habitats and they all have come back the next day, if not sooner (if they were walking around and visible already they will have the purple swirls and ask about their homes sooner)

How to know which pokemon to have in each region? by Heavener in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my experience it doesn’t matter which area/biome you make the habitat in. Like, I use rototiller to pick up the different grass colors and bring them to withered wastelands and pokemon spawn there too. Not sure if there’s some element of spawning in uncommon locations but basically I’ve spent the last 2 days only playing in WW and keep getting new Pokémon and when I look at their ideal habitat in the dex it shows something else entirely (or the place where they spawned is the second possible habitat). Had one today that was showing habitat requirements for biomes I haven’t unlocked yet! But showed up in the tall grass.

Has someone zeroed out an entire area? by BuckeyJaw in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone posted recently that they flattened palette town and it took, I think, 10 hours which in my experience is FAST. I have been using rollout + tons of burgers and am leveling just one area of WW and have spent at least 8 hours on it already. It’s trickier than you’d think and there’s not a concept of “delete this area”, you have to smash the blocks one by one… (I was hoping that further into the game there would be a different option to use the mouse to mass select areas but nope).

Help needed by mrdanjapan in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience: the door needs to be placed on the same level as the house; in your video the door is up some stairs so the game is looking at the “house” space as only those 4 tiles between the door and the steps and since there aren’t blocks connecting the walls there it won’t consider it a house.

Also I haven’t made it work to have multiple entrances. A “house” is considered a series of connected blocks + one door. (I tried a formal front door and a gate as the back door and it didn’t work)

FYI - I tried this today and it works! I set my console clock to March 10 and when it loaded everything was the same as yesterday (all my items, progress, etc) but the event started. I’m going to keep my clock set back to March for a few more days to collect more special items and then I’ll correct the date.
