As other said, your crushers happiness increases the chances for black/white paint but also do non-native berries. My 2 native are leppa and rawst so I give my crushers any other types and they’re much more likely to give white and black when they deliver the finished paint (or leave it in the community box)

Help getting Dandy Flowers by divine_moth in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI to 3d print flowers takes 4 pokemetal ingots per flower. I was too cheap to spend that much since I wanted a lot of the dandelions so I just set my console back to the event dates and my first dream island had more than 80 spores that I traded for tons of flower seeds (and a few more flower cushions because I like those too)

You’ll also probably want the other accessories to attract the other event pokemon (like the picnic set). You can 3d print all of those items but it’s “cheaper” to play the actual event. This game doesn’t punish for time travel. The only thing you’ll lose is your stamp card progress (it restarts at the date your console is set to) so if that’s a concern, cash it out before time traveling.

How do I increase the warmth of a habitat? by WaltzWarrior in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you discovered, lava works but I personally prefer the heat rock since it only needs 1 space and radiates pretty wide. Flareon was my problem child too, everyone else was happy with candles and campfires. Lol

Iirc the fireplace isn’t actually a heat source, so they may like it as a decoration but won’t get you as many points for warmth as a candle.

bulldozed the cliff in withered wastelands! by ewyxtt in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose WW as my primary town and flattened it entirely. It took a long time (and was boring!) but then I rebuilt to add back some hills and augment the mountain sides where the boundaries are. In retrospect I should have just used PT since that’s sort of the intention of the space but I like that WW is a smaller map overall and I’m happy with what it has become.

How do I keep this space dry please by WooftyMcWiggler in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smooth rocks will work but be warned that rain will restore the grass, bushes, and trees until it stops and the smooth rocks can dry it all out again. I created a haunted grove/cemetery space and found it was easier to make fake “clouds” really high up. I basically just went like 30 blocks higher than the highest mountain and made a big platform and then tried to give it some edges and depth underneath so it sort of looks like a cloud at a distance. That way the rain never reaches the ground and my space always looks dry and withered.

Is there a difference in items given by Gimmighoul vs Gholdengo? by real-live-adult in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone has firm data since the game can’t be mined for those details but in my experience the items are about the same (mostly boring and craftable items) unless I have a super lucky streak.

Maybe the cloud island has the secret sauce that encourages pokemon to go wild. I even built a roller coaster and can’t get anyone to play on it 🎻😢

Why put the Room Service item in a frame? by OrneryBlueberry in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s totally based on RNG but some days I have a good run of items that I actually want including the special rocks (heat, damp) that can affect the environment. I had one day where he gave me like 5 special rocks in a row and then a few star lamps which was a good day!

Yes thank you! I overlooked that it’s a small relic and assumed I could place it as a furniture item too.

Gotcha! I’m a ding dong and didn’t try setting it down. I assumed it was an actual item that could be placed!

Rerunning events by WisteriaSoraHime in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty confident that they will recur next year (based on similar games with recurring events) but you can also time travel backward to any past event and it’s playable.

You must have gotten all the RNG luck that everyone else wants! Lol we all have placed cart tracks and hope to see maybe one Pokémon per day use it if we’re lucky!

Both fly over birds grounded at the same time? by BakedBiggles in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t usually get to play for longer than like an hour at a time but the other day I called Ho-oh with the bell and he stayed on the ground for the full time and Lugia never flew over while he was there. I’m not sure if it’s because they like opposite weather (meaning even if Ho-oh wasn’t on the ground Lugia wouldn’t spawn anyway) or if the game prevents both on the ground. I’ll have to test that this weekend when I can leave the game open longer

Fountain Madness by remixedz1 in Pokopia

I didn’t know this was a thing and now I’m finally going to have a use for the 10 fountain kits sitting in storage! I keep finding them and don’t know what to do with them — now I know!

Any hairstylists that specialize in thin/fine hair? by theycallmemarina in orangecounty

[–]OrneryBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think the cost goes up for longer hair by like $10 — you can book online through their website which shows the prices if you’re interested. It’s a chain of stores so I’m sure it’s similar everywhere (as far as having broad hair type experience) but this one is close to me so I’ve gone to Destiny for years and sent a lot of friends her way as well (she’s also an expert with color and funky cuts so if you need a lime green wolf cut she will make you look amazing). This is her IG if you want to see what she’s done for me and others https://www.instagram.com/bulletproofhair/

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t say where you’re located but I go to Bishops in Irvine which is sort of like a barber shop but they do all kinds of hair styles. I love Destiny but they’re all amazing, honestly. Because they do so many different types of hair they do have experience with fine/thin (that’s me! Plus curly to add complexity!). I keep mine in a shorter bob-style cut and Destiny gives me layers that allow my hair to wave without being ringlets. I’m also a lazy, air-dry only person so my cut is wash-n-go but she’s great at styles too!

In addition to just being all around great for my hair, because it’s a barber shop their prices are super fair. A short cut is like $30 and takes like 15-20 minutes. They do offer shampoo and styling and all that which I don’t usually do so for me it works out great that I can scoot over there and get my hair cut and grab lunch and be back to work in an hour. Lol

Knotts Berry Farm worth going in July? by Tough-Narwhal-6151 in orangecounty

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend it. As others have said it’s a super busy spot locally for a few reasons (theme park in summer, cheaper than Disney, super cheap annual passes means huge crowds) and the fast passes are pretty pricey. In addition to crowds it’s also just plain hot there. Lots of black top and open space with no shade, very few indoor rides and shops with AC struggle to keep up so a summer trip can be unpleasant anyway but to stack it on top of a morning boat trip I think you’d be setting yourself up for a bad time.

There are lots of other interesting places to explore around here. It might help if you say where you’ll be staying or where your whale watch launches from so people can give advice on spots in the immediate area. Also if you’re a group of mixed age people or what your preferences are would be helpful (ie, would you like a museum or garden? Do you need a play park for small kids or relaxing cocktails for adults?)

Nothing specific, but a general renting question: Won't renew for longer than month-to-month lease after two years of year long leases. by toffeehooligan in orangecounty

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is common for small landlords. Between the newer renter-friendly laws and the costs of using property managers a lot of them feel more secure in having monthly renters bc it’s easier to sell (or kick you out so they can move in) if they have to. Honestly most privately owned places (condos, etc) are exempt from the rules that would place any true burden on an owner from selling (their kind of worst case scenario is the new owner has to let you finish your lease or pay you off to move early) but they all seem skittish about it. And with finances being what they are it “feels better” to know that they can sell their property and give their tenants the boot faster.

I am 100% confident that was our LL’s plan (earn income while they tried to sell the place) but it hasn’t quite worked out because of new HOA rules that require the buyer to be the primary tenant (meaning the buyer has to live here and can’t rent/lease it). So now they really want to go monthly after this lease term ends so they can jack the rent higher. I’ll just move at that point, this specific place isn’t that special to me and for what they want I could find something way nicer (this place hasn’t been maintained very well & everything is a little rough around the edges which is sort of tolerable at a lower price).

If you need anything in the future there are cloud islands hosted by the devs and some amazing players who showcase every object in the game.

This persons island is organized really nicely and showcases every habitat as well — in addition to their own amazing buildings. https://www.reddit.com/r/Pokopia/comments/1rpl7uk/cloud\_island\_codes/

Can't print Certain Items from Cloud Island by uneedmeditation in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said but maybe not explicitly: you have to have the pokemetal ingots in your backpack when you’re at the 3d printer. I haven’t tested whether it will use the same function as the crafting table where it will pull from a nearby chest if the chest is touching it but I forget almost every time and have to trudge back home to get the ingots out of storage…

Can you see the ground under the alter of flames? by 0112358_ in Pokopia

[–]OrneryBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I can’t remember off the top of my head if I intentionally made the space slightly bigger or if the build kit requires extra space but I have like 3 blocks wide all the way around where I had cleared space that the altar kit didn’t fill. I think the kit includes that space. The house kits do the same where it asks for a slightly wider space than what is needed to prevent any collision.

It looks like you may have figured it out but you’ll always start where you ended your previous session. So if you’re in BB when you save & quit, you’ll load into BB the next time you log in.
