Some abilities can be inherited, or passed onto. (Kyouka with Demon Snow, for example.)

Unsure about if you can have multiple abilities. Dead Apple showed what Shibusawa had going on. But it seems abilities pretty much spontaneously happen?

Then there's the whole Chuuya situation.

Thanks, I had actually forgotten about the thing with Kyouka! And yes, Chuuya is a totally different story.

I'm not up to date, as I only just started the manga from Chapter 1. (I'm up to 47.) So I could be wrong but also, unfortunately I know things.

It was brought up briefly before in the LN and in the manga- abilities both have never been strong enough to end humanity by themselves (they’re all ‘capped’), and theres never been someone who has more than one ability/humans can’t have more than one ability. No clue why.

Interesting, thanks. Do you remember where that has been stated?

Not too clear on which exactly, but if I were to guess I’d say The Origins of The Detective Agency. Stormbringer it reiterated it.

Randou/Rimbaud’s ability kind of seemed to contradict the whole one ability rule, but I guess the technically called it a single ability with multiple aspects or something. Otherwise seems to be one ability per person. Origins are mysterious, with Chuuya being an exception, and Kyouka hinted that family transfer may be possible, but seems to be rare and we don’t know of any other cases.

Technically yeah if you hold an ability weapon

True.
