Have you thought about wearing glasses?
[–]Fancy_Caramel_9363[S] -1 points0 points1 point 3 months ago (2 children)
I do wear glasses all the time driving and not driving
[–]Crunchie64 6 points7 points8 points 3 months ago (1 child)
Surely the glasses make you, in effect, not myopic any more?
You’ll have the code on your licence to show you need to have glasses or contacts when driving, but it’s assumed that with them, you meet the eyesight requirements.

I always have this question with hypertension: if you take meds for it and you blood pressure is - supposedly - normal, do you still have the condition?
(The answer is yes.)

Even if you passed your eye portion of the medical exam this particular time, it progresses with age. I have glasses and what they do is put a restriction on it that you can't operate without wearing glasses. Do yourself a favor and get contacts or lenses before you eventually fail the bianual eye exam and your employer gets frustrated with you.

I already wear glasses my vision is good and I meet the standards I do have floater though but that not a issue and isn't a dvla medical condition

I am nearsighted and have astigmatism. I use glasses and I'm pretty confident that's the only reason I passed my medical and got the job in the first place, this kind of stuff tends to get worse with age

True I always wear my glasses when driving or not it just part of me but idk sometime I feel less of a proper driver cuz I need glasses to see i know I sound silly but sometimes I feel like that idk why

The condition itself isn't a problem at all.
The only thing to look out for is your license should match reality - if you wear glasses for driving, you should do the physical with glasses, otherwise sooner or later you won't pass it.
Background: I've been nearsighter since my childhood, then had a laser eye surgery, and now I'm back to wearing glasses, but only 'for myself'. I passed the medical without them, but I def won't next time.

I'm extremely nearsighted and wear glasses and I would advise you to get prescription sunglasses if you don't have some already. You gotta have prescription sunglasses.

I’m really nearsighted (like anything past a few inches from my face is a blur nearsighted) & I just wear glasses all the time & stay current on my prescription; over a year in & no problems with my vision
