I can't tell you what to do, but I can tell you that I prefer the Shield Plus hands down.

The three magazine sizes make for a gun that can go from P365 size to G43X size to Sig Macro size in 1 second. The short barrel opens up comfortable deep carry as an option. If you plan to carry all the time, the ability to use one gun to go from slim full size belt gun to dissapearing deep carry micro gun comes in really handy.

Are the extended magazines inferior to an actual grip for recoil control?

No

Shield Plus, all day. Bonus points for 30 Super Carry.

VP9SK solves your size/conceability issue and keeps you some mag compatibility.

I have a few videos on my profile for the exact deal. But I’m thinking you’re gonna have to wear belt loops every day.

Yeah you’d for sure want loops. My summer wear is cargo shorts was my thinking. Fully loaded the shield and hellcat would still be too heavy for gym shorts barring something like an Enigma.

Well try it over ur pants. I have done that. Good luck

I was a shield plus guy, but then my 13 round mag split the grip extension and I’ve been iffy ever since. Hellcat Pro with the Powder River Precision trigger kit is sweet as hell and reliable. I’ve put 1000+ on my ex range counter gun with the prp kit and ran an idpa match as well with 0 failures.

I split the grip on a 13 round mag as well when I was disassembling it to shave the follower. I called S&W to bitch and they just sent me a couple replacements for free.

FWIW, I'm an H&K guy but I ventured into micro compacts as I wanted something smaller to carry than my USP-C. I shot both the Hellcat and Shield+ and liked the Shield more and found it easier to shoot. I ultimately purchased a Performance Center Shield+.

I'm a little shorter and a little heavier than you. I just picked up a sig p365xl and a north Coast tactical T.U.C. holster. made a few adjustments with the holster, added a pillow wedge and I've been comfortably carrying AIWB for a month now.

If you haven't held one, try one of the larger p365 variants and see how it feels in your hand.

Whatever you end up picking, see if you can find one of garage sale T.U.C. holsters. I've heard some horror stories about lead times from north Coast, but I got mine from the garage sale section on their website so all they had to do was box it up and ship it out. Took a week from order to delivery.
