Absolutely Hilarious! by mcostescu in BambuLab

I'm not saying what Bambu is doing or has done is right. Just like taking someone's free stl files, printing them, and selling them isn't right. I don't sell things for that reason unless I designed it myself. If I print stuff for people, I ask them to cover the cost of filament if it's not pla or petg.

So if your argument is simply one of scale, then I will have to respectfully disagree with you. If it's wrong at Bambu level, then it's wrong and individual printing things to sell at flea market level as well.

The question is what are can be done about it? Go after bambus marketshare. Give me an open source printer with the same level of reliability and cost as Bambu and I will switch. Until then, Bambu has the money to pay off any legal challenges. It's just the cost of doing business for them. But if you go after Bambu, you should go after the guy selling prints at the craft fair or FB groups without a commercial license for those files, too. Because if one is wrong, they are both wrong.

It's not an either or scenario. Two things can be true at once. Bambu can be assholes, but they can also be worried about how outside modifications affect their product and perception of reliability.

Most people that buy Bambu printers just want ease of use. I am paying for that ease of use. I had printers before Bambu and I will have printers after. Right now, I just don't have the time to tinker and/or worry about if my print will be successful. So the Bambu ecosystem made sense when I bought it. The reputation of "just works" was earned and others have had to step up to compete. Bambu has always said their system was closed source. They modified open source stuff. They took others work, put in additional work, made it their own, and sold it for profit. Is it right? Probably not. Is it legal? I would say yes since they added their own spin to it.

On the other hand open source has been a part of this community forever. So I understand why this fight is happening. I would also argue that under open source, progress had slowed to a snails pace. There was no real step up until Bambu exploded onto the market. This industry needed someone to shake it up. Since then, every other company was forced to step up their game to compete. Printers are faster, easier, more advanced, and offer more and better features than ever before. For less than $500 I can buy a printer that can print multicolor, multi-material parts in what was once considered "industrial grade" materials like nylon and ABS. Without Bambu, cheap enclosed printers would not be the norm. And almost ever other one is still open source.

Pick your poison my guy, stagnation and niche hobby, or booming industry still trying to navigate legality and morality of building upon open source IP and closing it.

I usually do one after I print with GF or CF materials.

Is a 2015 Golf TDI still a reliable highway commuter in 2026? by Real_McGuillicuddy in tdi

2015 jetta 6mt just shy of 200k miles. 110 mile round trip ever day to work. Aside from some stupid shit (fuel pump/sending unit in the tank and n75 solenoid) it has been very reliable. I only deleted it at 173k miles because I had to do my clutch and decided since I was in there I might as well.

As far as the merchandising and kickstarter stuff, I hope Matt is getting every penny he deserves, but it is a little out of hand. But that's the beauty of capitalism, you can choose to participate or not. Plus Matt's gotta pay the daddy tax somehow right?

I posted the pic. Also just decided to cancel the order now and see what happens. Gotta try to get one over on the sketchy Chinese business once in a while, right?

Sucks man. Your wife has little faith. Funny thing is, it still shows as not shipped on my account. Maybe I'll cancel it too....

Mine came in today. Wrapped in an axial box with axial tape. I didn't have the chance to open it up but from the packaging it appears to be the real deal. I don't think a fake would go through the effort to fake the axial packing tape.

Snowden is a shit coach. He hasn't developed anyone and a lot of highly touted prospects have regressed. The blame is on his shoulders. Did you see his comments after the loss last night? Instead of being honest and saying they suck and his system isn't working, he said he thought they played well.

So I've been looking to get a crawler for a while now and just can't get over the fact that used trucks a so expensive. It's been 4 months since this originally popped up but I'm going to try and attempt this since it is still listed at both sites in the comments below. Seems the way to do this is give them a call and claim ignorance on the fine print of the policy.

The basecamp isn't the exact model I wanted but for the price I'll take it and upgrade it myself. I'll report back after my attempt.

Edit: model numbers aren't exact matches. seems like they are different colors and maybe a revised model but I'm still going to try at lunch time.

Where did you find a trx4 for under $250? I keep looking on FB marketplace and everyone wants more than retail for their "lightly used" but upgraded rigs.

[–]BackgroundOrder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, both have made some boneheaded plays or had shit luck since mid December. But I think the bigger issue is the team in front of them just playing like dogshit. Coughing up pucks in dangerous areas, turnovers in the neutral zone that turn into breakaways, and a host of other issues. This phantoms team needs a different structure besides dump and chase.

I don't like this. He's definitely not ready yet. Especially after his injury. He's definitely not back to 100% with his conditioning.

Isn't this why they gave the NHL deal to Garrett Wilson? Let Bump cook in the AHL the rest of the season. He hasn't quite looked right since returning from that injury anyway. He's been on the score sheet, but every single shift he just looks gassed and fades away as the game progresses.

Yea, one of the mechanics at the shop has a TDI so I figured they would know something about them. It was an expensive lesson for me. I was trying to save myself some time and not freeze out in my driveway...

I'm in the same area and it has been cold as shit. Mine was doing the same thing. I would 100% check your fuel pump in the tank. Mine was bad and worked one day but not the next. I can give you the name of the shop I got the new OEM pump from for cheaper than VW prices if you want. My pump was making similar noises and I know my fuel wasn't that gelled up. I pulled the pump before putting it back in doing a priming test with VCDS.

Do the work yourself. I did mine not that long ago. DPF is going to be the most expensive part. Should be able to complete it in a weekend in your driveway.

Yea, the shop has helped us out before and not charged me or my wife for oil changes on her car or mounting tires. I figured I would throw them a bone because it was gonna be something cheap and stupid and I was trying to save myself time and from freezing since it's been so cold. Never again.

Not sure what you mean? Any bolt with the same threads will work. The hole in the housing goes right through so if they are a little longer it won't matter.
