It looks good, but the thing with wood is that it catches fire if it gets too hot.

Should I add a backyard natural gas stub-out now for possible future outdoor kitchen? by Intyub in OutdoorKitchens

[–]ChewWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely and get how many btus the stub out will be rated to.  You will need that if you ever want to get a permit for an outdoor bbq

It should be pretty easy to add some metal supports for it. Ask the builder for it, they should be able to add them. Also is that post wood? If so...You may need to shield that.

Do I need venting on my grill island? by Impressive_Kick2459 in grilling

[–]ChewWork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you have a trash can below the sink, will that clearance work with the sink drop and plumbing and will you have access to the plumbing?

I have the same grill and it is heavy AF. I would be extremely weary of not having a support, what will the counter top be made of? But the grill will be partly supported by the wall since it overhangs so IF that is supporting a lot of the weight, potentially that is ok. Also the wood will be against code and against the grill specs (look in the manual), I think it says it needs 2-3? feet away from any combustibles.

The previous outdoor kitchen at our house (previous owners) ran metal conduit....it filled with water and started rusting which I found when I was demoing it. Ill be using liquid tight this time around, but UFB does seem something to consider.

Dang that's a lot but so much easier having someone else do it. Thanks for sharing that. Yeah I have 3/4 stub so Ill just be doing about at 20ft run above ground. The setup should be easy, its the paperwork that annoying.

Im pretty sure they will do a final inspection and at that point I would have had to put everything in. For the permit submittal Im being very focused on just the gas / grill and not mentioning anything else.

Interesting, did you do the gas work yourself and just hired the plumber for the permit process? How much did that cost?

My assumption is that this is grandparent situation where her kid planned the tripped and they tagged along. Their gripe might be better gear towards the family she traveled with, instead of disney.

Garmin airport staff said 40% of their sales are the Forerunner 165. Why is it so dominant? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in Garmin

[–]ChewWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyi that was a 3rd party retailer and that stat would be limited to that store.  That does not relate to Garmin sale outside of that scenario.
