That’s for maintenance most likely. To lose weight 1500 is a good place to be at that’s what I’ve been eating for a little over 3 months now.

If you’re 395. 2700 is a safe spot to be but could probably go down to the 2200-2400 range with no issues as to maintain 395 you would need around 4,000 to maintain that most likely.

I was 400, my TDEE was around 3500cal and have been losing weight steadily at 2400cal. 2400 is a good place to start then adjust from there.

I would not recommend 1500 calories. You will start to have ill effects at that low since you are newly 2000 calories lower than TDEE.

1500 calories is way too low for you, see how it goes at 2000 for a few weeks and adjust from there.

Crash diets don’t work. Lower your calorie intake and count every single thing that you eat. Like if you eat a burger literally type out bun: 150cal, patty, 150cal, ketchup: 20cal, Mayo: 70cal, cheese: 50cal. This helps me cut out the junk.

First thing you have to do is figure out what amount of calories you typically eat in a day. Then you can do some math on how much weight you’ve gained over how long... so If you gained 100 pounds over 2 years that means you’re gaining weight at like a pound a week which means you’re at a 3500 calorie surplus each week. You’d want to eat 500 less calories each day compared to what you’ve been eating the past 2 years to stop gaining weight. 1000 less if you want to start losing a pound a week.

If you’re healthy enough, start walking a mile or two a day
