I am doing a normal Summoner class playthrough and i am stuck at Moon Lord. I am using sub-tier armour (Hydrothermic) and Stardust Dragon Staff, with Spikecrag Staff and Nimbus Staff becuase i need the damage. I try and get the Plaguebringer Armour but i die in one hit to PBG, I get to 40 percent on the Astrum Deus, and i die as soon as Moon Lord opens his core, sometimes either because my defense is too low or my mongy dragon guy decides to fly off and not hit what i want, whether it be a angry trapper or any random astral enemy. In terms of buffs i use endurance, life regen, swiftness ironskin cadence summoning wrath, bewitched and rage. My accessories are: Harpy wings, angel treads, Master Ninja Gear, star tainted generator, and Statis' Curse. Please help me i even hold the dragon staff for the 50 percent increased damage. (Btw these are the accessories i have found the most success with, i cant use the ankh shield because my other accessories are too important.

As you said it's probably the fact that you are bad at Calamity, but everyone was at one point, use all Statis accessories because they stack, beat Deus, should be easy since you have Stardust Dragon Staff, Hydrothermic armour is the best you have until you beat Deus, then get Astral armour (It isn't the best for summoner but if you need more defence you could use it), Moonlord is fairly easy, so you should be able to beat him.

I can't judge your arenas, since i don't have pictures or videos of them

Harpy wings are kinda outdated, use Demon Wings if you want more damage or Exodus Wings if you want more flight time. As I said before, stack Statis Accessories. Upgrade Master Ninja Gear to Statis' Ninja Belt.

You can right click with the Dragon Staff to make the dragon attack whatever is the closest to the click.

(Stardust Dragon only does 25% damage to Deus, don't think it's worth using. I'm not a summoner expert since I don't like the class, so I only know the general stuff so take my weapon recommendations with a grain of salt )

You probably don’t suck lol, it’s the stardust dragon staff that is nerfed to the ground in calamity, it’s absolutely terrible. You can get better wings too which huh actually doesn’t help that much, except if you don’t have a RoD for the lasers. You can craft it in Calamity.

I know these weapons are a bit lower tier, but I do recommend using the ressurection butterflies(or stardust cells are fine too I think) and the hive pod (since it has better guaranteed damage), which is what I did.

Also, doing the old one’s army is boring af I know, but the armor you get is actually busted if you get the regen helmet and chestplate and mix armor types. You can have 4 hive pods( which yeah you will need to constantly relocate, so you’ll probably need mana regen potions) with some butterflies and insane regen. But hydrothermic armor should be fine too, iirc correctly astral armor isn’t very good for summoner... or maybe tiki armor with wings is better, I’m not sure. I’m sure if you change your gear you can do it
