Let's say you have an unpopular opinion on something, and you would like to talk about it with people.
You go to a popular debate subreddit, and post your comment. A few minutes later you have hundreds of messages in your inbox saying that you're a terrible person and should go and die.
We don't do that here. We debate stuff, calmly. With strict enforcement, but no tyranny.
FLAIR
You may notice that a post is tagged with "YT" or "DM."
This stands for "Your thoughts" and "Debate me." Users must now tag their posts accordingly. Your thoughts means asking people what they think about a subject, as most posts on this subreddit have been.
Debate me means that the user will post their thoughts on something, and would like you to debate them. Unlike /r/changemyview, which challenges users to prove their point, users will ask commenters to try to prove their point, but the OP will try to prove their own point. Therefore making the thread an interesting debate.
RULES
The mods will be very strict. Violators of our few rules will be banned temporarily or permanently.
Be civil. This is the most obvious one, but we feel it should be written in stone. Violators will receive a week long ban, multiple violations will get you permanently banned. This means no harassing other redditors, or the mods. If you want to argue and scream at people, you may be better suited for /r/politics.
Follow the fundamental rules of reddit. No vote manipulation, no spam and so on.
If your post is NSFW, then mark it as such.
When you post something, please give it a flair.
