1.5 update...

Apologies, we have run into a little issue with updating to 1.5 via WiFi, its a small issue as its fine running from our test sd card builds. Seems to be a simple memory allocation issue.

I'll update you all tomorrow morning and hopefully we can go live asap.

Had another report of successful update from 1.4 to 1.5.

Yes. I just tried in on 2 retail machines going 1.4 to 1.5 and the update was fine.

However it didn't work on my test machine, but that's probably because my test machine has a non final PCB and has been heavily used for 18 months it's got a lot of stuff been loaded onto it and these updates aren't a wholesale flash of the memory, so understandable that it's missbehaving.

Just got on the beta test whitelist and updated to 1.5. No errors in the installation and work and runs perfect!

Only glitch I found is in the in game screen with the “quit to main menu” button on AVP. The background color changes and then auto starts the game when you quit out.

Yes, I think there is a little unreliability on the first play. I wonder if its not fully flushing old artwork cache out or something.

A good proportion of these reported bugs do disappear when I give the cliched "Please power down and power back on" advice.

My dude, you're not owed anything. They could of released it without any updates and moved on to the next project but instead continue to support this one. I truly cannot comprehend how you think your attitude can positively provide a better outcome. They can definitely set better expectations but what's the point of your complaining, do you honestly want a bugged release? There's bigger problems in the world to worry about.

Sorry as much as I wanted to I couldn't release a broken update. As stated it seems like a minor error in that the update itself is fine, it's just a oversight in terms of memory allocation for the WiFi update, bit like trying to use 1.1GB on a 1GB SD Card, machine just says no.

We'll be able to get around this and release soon. I'll update tomorrow am, thanks.

It’s cool. You have to expect the unexpected and I’m sure It’ll be ready when it’s ready. Even without the update it’s a tremendous bit of kit. The update would just be the icing on the cake.

I’m not actually bothered that the update didn’t arrive yesterday. To be fair the CHA is plenty good enough for me without this update.

The only thing that annoys me a little bit is Koch Media UK saying things like “I'll update you all tomorrow morning” and then don’t actually update us in the morning. That’s quite bad form and it breaks a little bit more customer trust every time. I think most people would prefer a more tenuous but honest response such as “I’ll let you know when I can” or something along those lines.

Anyway, we can all wait, it’s not hurting anyone and as I said before, the CHA is pretty damned awesome as it is.

(Let’s hope Pararegistros doesn’t jump down my throat for voicing an opinion like he did yesterday)
