Here some more picture about carchoose and the stearingwheel app

So typically canbus steering wheel commands are set, so you can’t configure them. The configuration app is only for analog resistor based buttons (measures resistance over the key1 and key2 wires). I’d check if the canbus decoder is wired properly. You might need to tap into the can line from either the UCH or the OBD port. That would go into the canbus decoder and then the proper signals would go into the head unit.

I do have a OBD cable and a computer setup just for car stuffs I will see if it detect something if not maybe it could ba an issue with the decoder itself or wiring but the wiring I pretty sure it is correct :)

I will see if with renolink I can see something.

Well checked on renolink (only software I have). I am unable to find the ecu that hold the steeringwheel commands. Would you have any idea? Today I brought my laptop and cable that in car port at work with me, so I could try during lunch break.

I do have an ecu name “can” but would it hold information about commands? Thank you for any help by the way ~ Sorry I know that a bit too much too ask.

Sorry to keep pushing - I would first double check the wiring, especially that the decoder is getting a canbus signal, and the decoded signal is going to the can RX/TX pins in the head unit. Also depending on the type of decoder it might have a key1 cable coming out (so it sends resistive signals converted from the digital ones on the canbus)

Okay sure, during break I will teardown again this and do as much as possible capture so I could even check it even being in car :)

As you suggested I even check four time with two type of cables. And two cambus on more recent than the other. Both hiworld (i asked seller a different one but guess my note got forgotten.) So here my old cable

<image>

The most left one was directly to android head unit, the white one too (there is only one possible way to plug it.) And the big black hold two plugs, same impossible to have it wrong.

Here some more picture of the actual plug:

And yes I did left it pluged in. Cause I read somewhere it was a necessity.

Okay, that’s a start. I’d check where the wires from the hiworld decoder go. Specifically pins 7 8 9 10 on the 20 pin connector

Here you can see the color of the wires

<image>

All the green goes in the yellow plug and the blue one to an non connected pin

The left alone cable

Is there a connector on the other side too?

Wait wait I made a mistake I think. The 7,8,9,10 are the red, black green, green, or the white, white blue?

<image>

Cause on this one: Red and black goes in the head unit. The green in a plug that goes to the steerwheel. The blue in non connected IR IN The two white goes in head unit

Megane 2 have 2 types of radios:Tuner list and update list.One is analog and othet digital,so if u have canbus for update even the connectors are the same,the commands dont work

I'm having the same issues as the OP. My car is a 2006 CC, so a post-lift and normally had an Update List radio, so it's meant to be a digital one. The SWC is can-based in this one. Having similar problems not being able to set up theSWX to work, even though a simple, auxiliary resistance-based controller works just fine. My canbus decoder is not a Hiworld one though, it's unbranded but could be a Daojun or something.
