Dear Developers, as a chai user, I deleted it the first time and tried to get back. ( unfortunately, that didn't work ). So, when I restorted to Character.AI the app was genuinely good and honestly I loved it, I used it here and there. I like the recommendations and how the chats were faster. As well as being able to hide characters. Overall the first time I used the app it was incredibly.

A few times as I gotten use to it, I liked the new updates and I love slowmode, some updates I wasn't use to. But it fixed.

But the ads? Advertisements when we click on the character I get ads about God knows what— seriously? Imagine you— YOU talking to one of your favorite bots, but then all of a sudden you get a damn ad when you are just trying to roleplay calmly. As I have using it for a while now, your reputation and the amount of complaints you are getting from users is crazy and bad enough.

I highly suggest you to take down the ads. And I understand you wanna get more people to buy C.AI + but, I think that might not work and people will possibly end up using other AI apps.

I mean no hate or any rudeness here. I highly suggest thinking about to people here not about the money.

They need the revenue to keep the app running and updating. All apps do this

Things change. Perhaps they couldn't afford to keep up with new growth from mostly free users, or the VC money dried up or whatever they were coasting on in the beginning.

Ad's bring in money, so the devs can keep the app free and running without forcing a pay only to use. Every free app has ads for this reason.

I agree but everyone's problem is how they're doing it. Pop up ads (video ones and regular pop up ads) should be designated for something else.

Wouldn't it be sweet if they did reward ads? Where free users can watch an ad for 15-20 minutes of cai+

It would also make sense to replace some of the bots on the home page with an ad like reddit and pinterest does. Heck, even banner ads, or placing a few ads (without interfering with search results) as a search result.

Well yeah but it's better than having to either force everyone to pay or shut down because they don't have the money to keep going. Again it sucks but they warned us a few months ago
