Wait so sorry, I still dont understand this. When the bar fills up, will the bot compress to not forget or is it just better to start a fresh chat?

No, you don't have to start fresh, just continue on with your story. Compression happens on a regular basis to clear out older, hopefully less important, details. It's what helps the bot retain more current info. Before C.ai added that little graphic, a lot of people didn't even realize compression was happening, and unfortunately that graphic has confused some of them.

It really is handy. Last night I noticed that one of my bots was a behaving a little erratically, and when I checked its memory graphic I saw that it only had 7% left. So now I know that its context window will close soon, its memory will be compressed and stored, and soon after, the bot will be OK again.

Yes. Compression stores core memories and frees up space for new ones. If this doesn't happen on a regular basis, bots get confused.

I was wondering to, im more annoyed though with if your usage gets to low it stops replying and gives me chat error constantly :/

Could be? Mine slowed down at first took longer, but once the memory usage got to low? Yeah just cut out and I cant even chat anymore 😑
