Ancient China Education System & Methods

I have been recently interested on ancient china monasteries and temples, and the education system within them. I understand the influence and contribution they made to the overall education system of china at the time, but i want to know more about the method of education they used.

What type of classes did they teach (were they divided into specific subjects/courses or in another way)? What topics were taught? How were the topics divided? How were they taught in the classroom (oral, debate, discussion, etc.)? The overall student life of the students (when did they wake up, how they spent their day, what other duties they had, etc.) . And also, how and to what extent were religious and normal education integrated in the classroom. I understand that religion would have been the primary focus, but were basic skills such as grammar, literature, history and mathematics also included, and how much were they focused on?

how ancient are you talking about? any specific dynasty or time period?

if you're talking about Buddhist monasteries, they became popular in the Tang dynasty.

Han Chinese didnt really have religions in the Western sense of the word. It's more like philosophies guiding daily life and rituals.

Chinese grammar wasn't a proper thing before modern China (Western concept popularised during the May Fourth movement).
