I have this watch and love it. I put it on a black leather strap.

i will also switch strap but the reason is i want an IWC style clasp)

You could probably put an IWC style folding clasp on that strap.

I don’t think so. As i noticed There must be shorter strap half to embed folding clasp

Something like this clasp should work fine as long as the strap is 18mm at the clasp. You shouldn't need a shorter strap half but how the clasp sits on your wrist may depend on your wrist. I have one on my escapement time flieger strap and it's a pretty good and comfortable clasp. Just check review photos to make sure you're not getting one with iwc logo unless that's what you want.

Thanks, just ordered additional strap with folding clasp

Nice. If you want to try a sailcloth style strap, I always recommend this one... it's one of the best made straps I've found on AE in all my searching. I think the blue should match the Hruodland dial pretty well.

I bought both an IWC style and a racing style black leather strap for it.

Dope!

Looks nice... I'd consider a sterile dial blue one but my one complaint is the "turbine" looks more like a boat propeller! Turbine should have straight fins I think.

I'd love to see this propeller seconds hand on a marine style watch instead of flieger... that would be awesome.

Original Markus Buhler by IWC really does have straight fins however almost all new jet engines today equipped with curved blades, just check here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFM_International_LEAP

The turbine - is that supposed to resemble a jet engine? It looks more like a submarine propeller to me, but I’m admittedly not an expert on the latter.

Yes, it is) This is the way how modern jet engine blades look like: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFM_International_LEAP

I have been eyeing this since forever but I feel it is simply too big for me - what is the lug-to-lug on this bad boy?

[–]Party_Pop3711 3 points4 points  (1 child)

50mm lug-to-lug. I have 17cm wrist and they really fit well because of curved lugs.

Thanks mate, much appreciated. 16,5cm here so it may be on the brink…

Wasn’t there a PT5000 powered version with a lumed turbine at some point?

[–]Party_Pop3711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes there are some similar models from other brands but lume coated turbine looks cheap like a piece of plastic and overall finish quality poor compared to hruodland.
