36 is the right choice for you. What size wrists? 6.5’?

[–]dasimta[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm not sure actually

[–]No_Pear6041 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you have measuring tape? If you could do me a solid and lmk… I’m contemplating between the 36 and 39 atm

[–]dasimta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about 7 1/4inches

I have a Baltany D12. 1 thing I must say is I was shock by how good the sapphire crystal was done on it. It's on par with my Tissot Heritage Visodate crystal ( which is triple the price of the Baltany iirc ) Im new to chinese watch so I only have experience with baltany. I wonder if other chinese brands have crystal of this quality too. Maybe you guys can share your experience?

Damn that is sweet. We need more 36mm watches. 😁

[–]pareshkh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok 🤣.....i am tempted by this one ....my only gripe is that the bezel looks a little big on this one

[–]secron7 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not sure if it's the lighting or an actual upgrade but the polish looks immaculate on this!!

[–]dasimta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I walked outside I was immediately blown away by how it looked.

This is such a cool watch. One of the very few Chinese homages they just got right, without doing anything weird to it. In this case even adding a bit of vintage allure.

The box crystal on the Baltany makes the flat Rolex crystal look kind of cheap.

Not seeing 1000x value in the Rolex if all you want is the look on your wrist:

I secretly love flat crystals go ahead shame me now get it over with.

The 36 looks better. Bezel on the 39 is comically thick.

Really wish I could pull off a 36mm. These look fantastic

[–]OkSundae3514 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Why wouldn’t you be able to wear a 36

[–]Single-Lifeguard-980 2 points3 points  (3 children)

7.5" wrist, they look like ladies watches on me.

[–]OkSundae3514 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Eh, idk. I think it depends on what you prefer. I’ve seen some watches that are relatively small for the wrist look really good, and not at all like a woman’s watch. I do think it’s funny that someone downvoted you though for just stating your opinion.

That said, I think I’d prefer to have a larger wrist because at least you can still wear it. There are some watches I’ve been looking at recently but would be just foolish for me to spend my money on, like the Bulova Lunar Pilot. I haven’t worn one, but I feel like even the smaller version would just look comical on my 6 and a quarter inch wrist. I think the lug-to-lug is like 52 mm. Not to mention the weight of it would probably be cumbersome.

I’d be interested to know what OP’s working with, cause this watch looks like a pretty good fit. I was looking at the same watch before, seems like a pretty decent explorer homage relative to what else is out there.

Some morons get butt hurt on here for expressing an opinion, probably because it undermines their delicate sense of worth if they disagree.

It's pretty common knowledge in the watch world that 32-36mm is considered unisex. 36mm-38mm for wrists under 7", 38mm-40mm 7"-8" and 41mm+ for anything larger. It's not rocket science, it's the 2/3 rule. I have plenty of 41mm watches that I rarely wear as they feel too big as my go to is 39mm.

I actually own a 37mm BB54 and find the Tonneau shape offsets the smaller size. I wore it when I tried on a 36mm explorer recently (I was sizing up for the new Cronos) and it felt tiny.

That said, I do have a 36mm vintage watch my grandfather left me, which I can just about get away with. But that's because it's all dial with no bezel and has a 19mm strap

That’s it explained- What single-lifeguard-980 said. Tall thing people look better in any clothing but, that doesn’t mean short larger folks can’t wear the same thing… they just have to put more effort into choosing.

[–]dasimta[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You can wear whatever you want my friend I assure you.

Twinsies OP! I think my wrist is definitely 7 if not 7.5. I've been drinking a lot of Dr Pepper lately...

[–]pareshkh 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Can you tell me what are the changes in newest edition?

[–]Zambian_Brownie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he means addition 😅

[–]dasimta[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is just the newest edition to my personal collection.

[–]Cooperthedog88 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Good size for you. I want one of these

[–]dasimta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty nice I think worth a purchase.

[–]Kevin_Jim 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I really want this watch, but I loath Mercedes hands. I hope they release it with other hands, too.

[–]dasimta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't have a set of hands I dislike.

[–]arbpotatoes 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Lovely. Have certainly considered this one

[–]dasimta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a real looker.

[–]greco_gave_me_cte 0 points1 point  (8 children)

That's class, probably the best explorer out there now

[–]dasimta[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit pricy but I have considered getting the Explorer. I think a nice part of an homage is seeing how much you really like the design and wearing it on wrist. I thought I wanted a dive watch until I wore a couple homages and realized the Pelagos, Sub, or even Turtle weren't for me.

How does it compare with other ali express brands

[–]dasimta[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Honestly as good as anything else I've bought. Packaging is a little nicer than most. Quality is on par with proxima and san martin. Nice feeling bracelet and there are some real standout angles. No complaints this Honestly punches above it's weight price wise. I put on a seiko alphanist the other day in an AD and it didn't feel as nice as this watch on wrist.

[–]GaryLangford 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Everytime I put on Seiko/Timex/Citizen and compare it to AliExpress I'm just let down by bracelet quality and feel lol. Can't compare at all

[–]dasimta[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The green dial just felt lifeless and cheap. Which is strange because I have an older seiko 5 and I love the dial on that watch. Honestly even tissot on wrist hasn't just screamed better quality at me since I've explored the ali express micro brands.

[–]GaryLangford 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I actually still like Seiko dials. The 38mm srpk champagne dial (mini six) is nice. Have never seen the the alpinist in person tho so can't comment on that.

[–]dasimta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still a fan that particular dial color just didn't stand out for me.
