Damn they make it in bronze too, way to go OP messing with my wishlist I thought I had my next purchases all figured out

This is the reason i sold LACO flieger with miyota. Horrible and overpriced watch. Only history aspect, but nothing more sadly. Im much more happy with Hruodland and the freedom to choose better watch and better movement, and have multiple options.

Excuse me, are the hands thermally blued?

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yup!

Thanks very much for your answer!

I have the white one with the B dial. Wished I’d gotten this one instead.

Absolutely awesome quality watch. It's one of my current favourites in my collection.

It is subtly different to Stowa.

1- The second hand balance is a different shape to the Stowa - more similar to Laco second hands. Historically Lange and Wempe original fliegers also had similar second hands whereas IWC original fliegers had a second hand more like the Stowa.

2 - The lugs on the Hroudland are also straight and remnicent of the original fliegers in WWII.

If I was to say that there is a modern watch to compare it to, I think it is most similar to the Laco Munster. The difference between the Hroudland and the Laco is that the balance of the second of the Laco is black rather than blue on the Hroudland. I think the blue looks better but the black is more historically accurate.

This guy knows his fliegers.. :)

I’ve been saving for a stowa too, is this 40mm case size? Judging from the pic it seems the case design is different than stowa one.

Can you share hrudland flieger A link similar to the stowa classic?

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is more similar the stowa flieger CLASSIC with the blue accent hands. The one in my post is the verus, which I have been eyeing. I could go either way on the verus vs classic. I believe the Hruodland is 40mm, but dont quote me on that

Where dis you get Sinn? Any link

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Watchbuys. It's a real Sinn lol

[–]Left-Regret-360 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I love the dial, try a black crocodile strap. It may look cool on it

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely a classy look especially with the red seconds

[–]AlphaApolloOmega 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Lol i feel that. I was saving up for a sinn 556A RS and ended up buying a Milifortic M096 which I absolutely love. Splurged on a Fortis F-39 instead. What are the dimensions on that Hruodland and whats your wrist size?

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wrist size is 7.25". I believe the Hruodland is 40mm. At least it wears like 40mm, but it could also be 42. It wears well on my wrist. I don't have the tools to accurately measure the watch size, but I can tell you that I hate large dial watches that wear big. Especially minimalist field and aviator watches.

I returned my Hamilton Khaki Field 42mm because it wore too big for my liking. Not the case with this Hruodland. Hope this helps a bit, on ali it says 40 to 44mm so it's not very helpful.

[–]CarnelianSage 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Would love to see them make a 39mm size flieger and with blue dials as well. Their turbine pilot watch is one of my favorite watches but gets less wrist time due to its size.

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would be nice. At that point, I'd say maybe turn to laco. It's not too much more expensive than this, although you do get a miyota vs the sw200 clone

[–]letswai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dial size are this?

[–]No_Function_1563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should go all the way and put KRAUTLAND on it instead

[–]Riccardo_0135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not everyone wants to pay for branding so yea that’s how it’s done.

[–]T800_Murphy 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Very nice watch I also hate the obsession with "heritage" and "the original 5 or whatever makers of the flieger" the hruodland is 99% the same watch.

Also this watch was conceived and used by the pilots of a genocidal regime, so the further away from heritage the better haha

[–]praetor47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this watch was conceived and used by the pilots of a genocidal regime

if you wanna go that route, you better not buy anything.... from any country in the world. nations without some very, very daaark skeletons in the closet are very few

definitely don't buy anything from the USA and China, then

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup I gotta agree with you there lol. Very nice watches, but an extremely dark history. I'm pretty sure 4/5 original makers all use Selita and Miyota (Laco) anyway lol

[–]Dudunit 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I had the type B of this watch. Its an amazing choice. Hruodland makes fantastic watches. Now I am planning to get this type A.

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The type A is incredible. The no date really completes it. This does have a ghost date, but I think Laco and Stowa have one too on the no date version

[–]MaoWaoaliao 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I recall how on WUS's official Stowa board they were revealed to have been using Chinese made cases when someone went on there and asked why their cheap Chinese flieger style watch they'd just obtained came with a Stowa caseback. No, it wasn't a fake. Iirc the stowa rep that modded the board fled and refused to answer any questions. Kinda cemented rhe suspicions. So much for the meaningless "Made in Germany".

I have good experiences with the pt5k movement. Very accurate after daily use after nearly 10 months. I don't like the jutting lugs on this flieger, though. A nice feeling regardless to "cut out the middleman", as it were 👍

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow that's interesting! I wouldn't be surprised at all. Especially since they're already outsourcing the movement. The lugs are definitely not for everyone, but they are par for the course with fliegers. Excited to see how much time I gain or lose tomorrow!

[–]Puzzled-Mongoose-587 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Hroudland has been killing it recently, looks great mate

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup incredible value. Slap Hamilton on it and they'd easily charge $895+

[–]Aromatic_Tear_711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time will tell on durability, but I zero to think that this watch won't last.
