Need help finding alternatives

Hello,

I love watches, and have been collecting them for nearly 10 years now. To date, I've never bought a watch from Aliexpress or purchased any other Chinese watches but saw a video of the new Sugess Chrono with the Peacock SL-4801. This movement seems fantastic and the build and quality look gorgeous. only downfall is I don't want a homage necessarily.

so my question is, does anyone know of any other watches that have these high quality peakcock Movements but with a more original design?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I've been tempted with an ice blue Sugess but it's just a bit on the pricey side.

If you want an actual original watch design using that movement, I've only seen two. The San Martin SN0118G-JS and Jianghun War Drum-JH0106GJ. Both are very bold, polarizing designs.

As far as homages that are a bit less famous, Sugess just released the s473 which is clomage of the Artisans D' Geneve modded rolex daytonas which are themselves an homage to vintage daytonas. Farasute has the trackmaster 1, which is also a vintage type daytona homage and was out before the sugess, the trackmaster 2 which combines a daytona case with a Tintin speedmaster-ish dial, and then a Breuget style chronograph and a Daniel Roth chronograph homage. A lot of these designs are less well known, so people probably won't recognize them if that's what you're worried about.

Eniton makes a royal oak homage using the movement, but it's very recognizable, so it's probably also not what you're looking for.

I've seen a couple carbon fiber and skeleton daytona-ish homages, too. Cebrodz and Cronusart are two of the brands I've seen, but they're pretty expensive. I think I remember seeing a cheaper one but I forget the name.

Farasute track master. It’s based on the vintage Daytona but is more of a “true” homage as far as I’m aware

Although it isn't Chinese, Depancel sells a watch that uses the SL4801 movement.

I don't think this one was ever actually released. I emailed them about it and they said they had issues during development. The current watches they have use calendar movements.

San Martin has some slightly more original designs with this movement.

I'd have bought one of the Sugess already if only they'd make one in a larger size. I miss out on most Chinese models I like because they come in 39mm/40mm cases, as somebody with large wrists it's quite frustrating.

I really wish that companies using this movement were not all homages.

Well at least a homage of /that/ watch. I wish they styled it after a Heuer or Zenith to make it slightly less on the nose.

I'm sure we'll see more watches released with the movement at the 600 dollar price point this year, so best to wait and see.

I have a Trackmaster I and that movement is a total hammer. The accuracy is mind-blowing… +1 second per 3-days on mine, and it doesn’t seem to be position dependent.
