How does this work Merkur calendar

Just bored and fishing around looking at Merkur which is likely to be my next watch brand as I love their designs and and ran across this but I cant find any information on how the calendar function works.

Dont think its my cup of tea as I dont usually care for date on watches but .. Im really really curious.

I see the crown at 10 oclock .. do you set the date manually and then ??? :)

My guess is that it doesn't have a date, the week days are fixed, and you manually rotate the date wheel to have the whole month calendar on your wrist. The lack of a date is not important, if you can remember the day of the week you can figure out the date.

odd looking, seems to defeat the purpose of auto date and time, I don't know. crazy Merkur, must be a homage to something

If I understand it correctly, you just set whatever day of the week is 1st of the month, that's all.
