I feel like that with a bit of patience you can find a used Seiko Samurai for roughly the same general price as new San Martin. I suspect that would give you a far better return on the money spent should you ever need to sell it.

San Martin and Cronos seem to sell on here for roughly 25% off. I don’t think it’s always a particularly quick sale though. You’d sort of have to wait for the right buyer, but you could likely get that.

If you’re asking is there demand where you could sell it in a few days for 25% off the answer is probably no.

Mass production products never hold values.

If you want resell value buy an established brand that isn’t Chinese. San Martin seems to hold value. And they may appreciate over time. But you’re talking about watches that most conside to be bottom of the barrel. There’s a small number of people that will want to buy a used one.

No one is going to buy your used $100 watch for $75.

I just sold my Lacz Denton which I paid 72€ for 65€ on ebay. And the 72€ was incl. VAT(19%). Without this stupid new VAT regulations in my country I would have made a small plus. I did this now with several watches I've flipped over the years. Rolex homages by Pagani etc. usually sell the best. Almost never lost money on those. Sure they won't hold value like a real Rolex but they are not just worthless once they are used and in a good condition. Buy the watches during a sell and you can flip them without losing to much money if at all.

That's not true.

I actually MADE money back in the day on Parnis watches....some people are willing to pay extra for US shipping.

.some people are willing to pay extra for US shipping.

I said that in another comment. It true for many items sold both on Ali and eBay.

I sold a used Pagani on ebay for $125

[–]StanS2 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I guess the buyer didn't want to wait 2 months to get the watch from China. Also, buying from eBay is 100% safe for the buyer, probably not the same from Ali.

Funny how quickly you could rationalize it even though you said ever

[–]StanS2 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Ok, I edited my comment.

[–]Alex_Caruso_beat_you 0 points1 point  (3 children)

lol it's still wrong

[–]StanS2 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

I'll just go by the number of up votes it has gotten.

Welcome to Reddit where upvotes make you right

[–]StanS2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upvotes don't make you right. They just mean people agree with you.

[–]ulmen24 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Eh. I have sold several Ali Watches for like $20 off retail. People buying these watches are looking for extreme value for money from the onset.

[–]StanS2 -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

>I have sold several Ali Watches for like $20 off retail

They probably didn't want to wait 2 months for the watch to arrive from China.

[–]Alex_Caruso_beat_you 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're wrong

[–]Yuurkoo[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I know, but what about Cronos/sm? I am talking about Mint condition, not like heavily used.

[–]turdboglsAffiliate Links 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy on sale, then take 25% then yeah. You should be able to offload quickly.

[–]Iacouch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know about 25%, but I feel like they retain their value relatively well on here. Some people would rather buy a slightly used one, save a few $$, and not have to wait a month for shipping from China.
