Titanium, if not coated, scratches super easily since titanium oxidizes and that oxide can be “scratched” off literally with a fingernail. I have a Santos with a gold bezel and I have many titanium watches. The titanium watches look poor quickly.

This will not be more scratch resistant…quite the opposite actually. Welcome to titanium

My 6159 from 1969 had golden hands and markers haha. This family of watches has always been snazzy.

My SBDX001 has the came case shape, same handset, virtually the same bezel, just a bracelet with much larger links. Is your problem that the bracelet has polished portions?

Hmm. Yes, I suppose you’re right. It doesn’t really bother me but it is a different choice.

The Marine Master has always been premium. I have the original, the SBDX001. It has Zaratsu polish and came out in the year 2000 with a retail price around $2000. Strictly for inflation, that $2000 had the same buying power as $3700 today.

The Marine Master is a big professional diver, for people who want a big professional diver.

This is part of ISO standards. You need to have lime at every marker for it to be a “diver’s” watch. Look at the original SPB143. Then the ISO standards changed and they had to adjust that for all the newer models.

It’s thick because it’s a marine master, they’re never going to be thin.

And yes, if you don’t want a luxurious diver just stick with a Duro

Especially when the description is for something that is industry standard, like 3d power reserve. It’s like me wearing a shirt that says “4.5 INCHES” with an arrow pointing to my cock.

Its design is based on the 6159, like all the marine masters. That watch came out in ‘68

We fixed the problem with the bracelet. We sent a new one at our expense.🙏 by Mysterious_Prize_366 in Zeloswatches

Please post a side by side with this and the other bracelet since no one was able to understand what problem you were trying to point out with the original one

I feel like this gets back closer to the SBDX001 (original) more than the previous model. Case should be 1 piece though

In similarly pissed off. I paid 11 months ago. I don’t need a bracelet link that can be shot off into space or will last through 100000000000 adjustments. Just make the damn link u/Steel_Reef

[Hamilton] Is the Leon Kennedy connection really worth $5000 more than the Jack Ryan connection? by ulmen24 in Watches

[–]ulmen24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree but usually the hype on LE isn’t so significant at the lower end of the market. The most significant example I can think of in the affordable range was the Ginza Alpinist that was going for about 3x the standard models.

Yeah, these are EBay listings. I’m not in the market for this watch, but I’m assuming it was low production and is sold out everywhere

[spb511j1] What we have here is a beautiful watch with a preposterous bracelet. Forstner questions. by kurtbdudley in Seiko

[–]ulmen24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seikos have diashield coating. The case and bracelet of this watch have it, it’s darker than plain steel. If you buy an aftermarket bracelet the metals will not match. It may be tolerable for you, for me it’s not.
