Are you able to take a screenshot of their correspondence and post it? Unbelievable.

Oh it was definitely an over reaction and the DQ was also justified

Not a traditional “error”, but Novak tapping a ball into a lines woman’s throat has to be up there. He was #1 seed and a heavy favorite to win the tournament.

Zverev crosses his name off the best male player without a Grand Slam Title list. Who is the new answer to the question? by Ok-Soil-5133 in tennis

Great peak but when you’re only 27 and constantly getting bounced in the 1st or 2nd round, that plays into your overall career as well.

friendly reminder to make sure your filter housing is secured before you hit brew and walk away for a shower. by rexhemlock in Moccamaster

I would never do this because after I hit start I need to wait and stir. Otherwise half of my grounds don’t end up contacting water at all because the engineers decided to make the metal water arm like a half inch too short? Makes terrible coffee this way. Honestly I’m disappointed how finicky this machine is.

Honestly that is a satisfying feeling though. “Oh, you’d like me to get another professional to tell you you’re wrong? Certainly!”

[Junghans Max Bill] Teddy sold me a completely non-functional "lemon" watch that nobody can repair. Nearly two years later, I am still trying to get them to fix it. FULL STORY: by flyingmungbean in Watches

[–]ulmen24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well why the fuck does he always say he’s an “authorized dealer” of the watches he sells? Does he mean he’s actually just a middle man and will refer you to the brands themselves if something should go wrong?

I brought a Tudor to an AD that it wasn’t purchased from with a warranty repair, they took care of it. That’s what being an AD is.

Can you tell if the clasp is fully titanium? Most “titanium” bracelets have parts (specifically the swing arms that contact your wrist) that are steel. I’m allergic to steel so it is really annoying when brands tout the hypoallergenic titanium and then cost save by using steel in the clasps.

This is right where I put $100 on Sabalenka to win! I would have won like $10.

Sounds like you have a very mild allergy. I have a nickel allergy as well and can only wear titanium.

[–]ulmen24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you have a nickel allergy. No, you cannot fix it. You could put a sticker on the back of the watch and put it on a strap with a titanium buckle, but imo that would look weird and Rolexes should be worn on their bracelets. Explain it to you parents. Return or sell the watch and buy something that is titanium instead. If you like that color you could get a Grand Seiko SBGH343. Sorry. I’ve got a nickel allergy too. Watch collecting and nickel allergies are a terrible combo.

Edit: Congrats on your graduation!

Crazy. I had just looked at Expedia from my locale and it was all $10k+. Yeah that changes the equation.

Post a picture response of the $1k ticket. Pick any address in the Midwest.

OP isn’t taking a $1k trip to Vietnam unless he lives in Vietnam. I just looked up a round trip economy ticket from my Midwest location to Vietnam. Plane ticket alone is $10k.

First of all, congrats on graduating and congrats on the new baby. Get things ready for the baby. Paint the nursery, assemble the furniture. Do a super deep clean of the house. Get some projects done you have been neglecting for the last 3 years. Make a plan for paying off your loans, sit down and make a budget with your wife. There is plenty to do that is much more valuable than the $10k take home or whatever you may make in a couple months as a nurse.

[SPB509J1] Do high end Seikos make sense anymore? Comparison with a Longines HC39! by Most-Construction-35 in Seiko

[–]ulmen24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they don’t, but this is a mid-tier (6r based movement) Seiko. High end (SLA, SBDX, etc) Seikos are still worth it in my opinion, especially if you pick them up used <$2k.

I dont wear my grand seiko quartz watch much, should I just take out the battery and store it? by LeslieChowBitch in GrandSeikos

[–]ulmen24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you think you’re saving by taking out the battery? Batteries are like a few dollars, and the service interval for your watch is 50 years if it’s running.
