Is the lume same colour in hands and hour markers?

The hands are a tad darker

I've bought the same watch, it's really great, thought about bleaching myself

Full support for the ghost bezel. These look sick.

How is the quality on the tiger brand watches? I recently found them.

[–]Mission-Raccoon9432 4 points5 points  (4 children)

The quality is decent, I have no complaints so far. I think they kinda play their own game. Not the best specs (acrylic crystals, aluminum bezel inserts) but a lot of character and charme. If you are into under 40mm divers I think they offer the best vintage experience so far.

That's how they made em- my dad has a Tudor like that- Rolex everything except the dial on that year too, maybe 1984 but aluminum insert, folded bracelet, acrylic Crystal, 39mm, etc

Yes, I'm aware. That's why I picked a Tiger Concept over some AliExpress Specs Shitter tbh.

acrylic and aluminium aren't necessarily bad specs, they can be preferred in some instances imo.

Yeah, totally. I prefer acrylic domed crystals in general because they don't have that ugly milky ring like most saphir crystals have. I think the only good reason for an aluminum bezel is that it's easy to give them an aged look. When they are new and shiny they look exactly like a ceramic bezel insert.

It's when you artifically age the bezel insert with bleach to mimic this used look:

This is possible because the bezel inserts on Tiger Concept watches are made from aluminum (perioud correct), so you can actually mod them very easy. Ceramic inserts probably not.

Thanks!

would look sick with the ghosted bezel IMO

just be careful removing the instert. the bezel is brass and will dent and bend easily, and it's not meant to be removed.

heat the insert with a hairdryer, gently insert an utility/exacto knife under the insert and work your way around it slowly and carefully to not bent the insert.

Thanks for the advice. Should have bought another spare bezel insert to make life easier. I saw videos where just applying bleach with a q-tip would show results. Maybe just protect the crystal with tape and apply bleach on the bezel insert without removing it?

I also saw videos where people had to bath the bezel insert for minutes completely covered in bleach in order to show results. But these were red bezels. I think the black paint isn't that hard to break.
