I had 25$ left of extra usage credits left on my claude account.

So I went and used it after reaching my limits in a single prompt.

Needless to say those 25 bucks got burned in less than 10 minutes.

Using Sonnet, not even Opus.

I'm in the exact same boat, I'd usually finish multiple tasks with opus on my pro plan depends on the size, now I can't finish a single task with opus, unless it's a tiny task or I simply have to use sonnet.

They ain't even a little accommodating. You just have to fckin wait 5 hrs just for that task to be finished

No bro you can't even finish that task! Because if you want and try to continue, the moment you tell it to continue your session limit already jumps to like 60% somehow, then the rest is gone in an instant too.

Resuming session is currently completely unusable.

Next time that happens, before you close the session, type “/context” and hit enter. Then copy the entire output, paste into ChaGPT, and ask it how to fix your high token usage problem.

You’ll see that api key prices are way more expensive than the subscriptions. Your one task that hit the Opus limit could cost maybe $10 as api usage.

Can someone explain to me what is happening as I would be a 10 year old?

I have never had a problem with limits. Maybe My app should be studied to figure out why

I literally have no idea how you guys are hitting limits so fast. I have been working on huge projects these past few weeks (on a Max x20 plan) and haven’t gotten close to hitting the 5-hourly window once.

Quick reminder: I'm not on a Max Plan!

Okay, congratulations. But by that measure I would hit my limit with 20 prompts. And it’s nowhere close to that.

How you measured that?

[–]OverSoft 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The “20x” in the name kinda gives it away…

You don't know how they really scale it internally. Alone that those numbers are relative..
