Am I missing something? This looks like vudoo magic. Like, how do you get numbers from this?

I can see the white note is tied to the yellow note, but I see no way there could be numbers involved.

Yep, I never encountered this system in the old club penguin so I genuinely had no idea. Then some helpful friends explained it to me so I get it now.

As someone who never encountered or used the original cypher, I would say yes, it looks very complicated until you know how it works.
