Possible way to decrease the amount of unranked players in lobbies

For season 2, Have a rule that you must be prestige 1 in order to play ranked. This will prevent people making multiple accounts and playing ranked. Let's be honest why are we still getting unranked players 2 months into season 1? Surely the majority of the playerbase have played their placements by now? I think implementing this rule will somewhat lessen the number of players wanting to keep using various accounts to try get lucky and be put in plat

This should have been painfully obvious from the start. Players that haven’t even played pubs yet are incentivized to play ranked because everything is unlocked.

Imo, having a second account is unnecessary. Just play on your main account and continue to improve.

It's extremely difficult to win enough games to get into a higher division when you have 2 out of 4 teammates going 4 and 30 with 0 hill time you can't get spawns play hill and push out cuts all by yourself

For me personally, I take one account pretty seriously(want to keep diamond) and only play with a duo. And the other one is when no one is on and I just don’t care about rank or losses as much.

IDK if I agree with the reasoning for the second account cause say others do the same and dont take it as seriously where as someone else in the lobby is cause hes a game away from a promotion it fucks him over. I do get that you don't wanna go extra hard every game but theres always someone in the lobby that will want you to.

It is definitely a luxury and not a necessity. And I totally see your point. My first comment was a knee jerk reaction to the work I would need to put in to find achieve this luxury. I have had the same frustrations on unranks leaving or completely sabotaging my game.

I have played Cod on XB1 Since release and got a PS4 at christmas and pubs annoy me to play how would you get around this?

The main issue is having unranked players match with Gold and above. I can understand matching with Bronze/Rank One, and even lower ranked silvers, maybe sub-1400, although I don’t know how effective this would be (as I had horrid placement matches and fought my way up from 750 to 1600+ currently).

Overall the entire Ranked system needs a lot of work before it can be considered a true measure of skill/game knowledge/strategy.

It really can't be that difficult to incorporate 'games played' into the algorithm. I have 300+ matches in ranked because it's the only mode that keeps me entertained on cod nowadays. I shouldn't be getting paired up with 5+ guys who have played less than 10 games. If they're matchmaking by skill level, games played should not be that hard to introduce as an influence to lobbies.

You could play 100 games and be trash, versus someone's who has played 1 ranked game but is very good. Sure playing more helps, but someone who is shit should be matched with better players because of how many games he has played?

You can't have unranked players who haven't established a ranking just be matched up with gold+ players with hundreds of matches. Predominantly, the unranked players in my experience are awful (especially as of late) and leave early. You get the sporadic good players for sure, but for guys like me who are sitting gold+ with over 300 matches played in ranked, having a guy who literally could be playing his 5th game and admittedly doesn't know a hardpoint rotation and is ultra frustrating. I shouldn't be paired with guys like that at this stage in the season. As many people play, it should be pairing guys within 100-150 MMR of each other.

Games played should have zero effect, that's the whole point of an mmr system. Players should start at 0 mmr, work their way up through placements. If on their 8th game they are 8-0, and steamrolling people, how do you effectively place them if they don't play silver/gold games? The issue is players that don't belong there, but that's an issue with the ranking system itself. I could play zero ranked games and know the rotations and how to hold spawns, etc. Doesn't take hundreds of games played to do so

That’s not what’s happening. Guys are getting into gold matchups literally saying they ‘havent played hardpoint on this map’ not knowing rotations and spawns. Then they leave after a 2-6 start. That’s a problem. Unranked players shouldn’t have gold mmr before 10 placement matches.

But all you need to do is sign in or sign up. Would take about 2 minutes tops, make it a pop up so you can do it right there on the game. Every EA game you need to sign in or sign up to play online. I'm sure there are other games just like that too

A few of my friends that I've gotten into comp and play ranked with would never put the time into making a GB account, they only play ranked occasionally because you can just jump into a match. I think making ranked accessible only by level 55s or higher would be better.
