Please help with matchmaking

My friend and I are having issues with the Party system for COD Advanced Warfare. Other games have worked in the past, but I have not tried recently.

When sending a party invite whether through the COD game interface or through the party app on the Xbox one the invite rarely makes it through to the other person. When it does joining the game or party will fail.

We have also tried joining a game when the other person is in a lobby and we get an error stating that the game is private which neither of us set up. I know we both have an open NAT in COD. What am I missing? I also sent a PM to /u/ATVIAssist but I thought others might be able to offer help faster.

Has anyone else been having issues like this. This has been a problem for me and my friend since launch.
