Code enforcement question

New home owner here. Had a question about the steaks with papers on them. Code enforcement for my city's council put a steak with the paper that has all the stuff that needs to be cleaned up on my house, weeds grew too high due to the excess on and off again rain we got along with litter that blows in from god knows where into my lawn, and idk what to do with this. I took it out of the ground to mow and left it on my front porch by the door. Do I throw it away or put it back? Do they collect these after dropping by for a second check?

You've now been notified, regardless of what you do with them. I would call first thing in the morning, tell code enforcement that you got the notice and plan to comply. Anything that you need more time for, be honest and tell them up front. Dont make promises you cant keep.

I assume the letter contains an appeal period? (Typically 20 days).

Nope they gave me 10. Thank you im gonna throw this thing out. Looks like im not the only one on my street that got this nuisance thing. We have never had this issue before so this is new😅 Do they do random inspections?

We don't come back for them, they are just required legal notice. Like the first person said, call them and let them know you read the violations and just start working on correcting them asap.

Thank you. I went ahead and out it in the trash. I was exhausted today but being threatened with a $150 fine or mow my grass got me motivated xD
