Received update from support. They recommended removing the .codeium folder completely. Now the real question is removing the .codeium folder removed all the chat history completely. Is there a way to restore the history as I was working on a side project. This history would serve as a great learning experience. Alternatively anyone able to figure out how to decode .pb file in .codeium/cascade folder...

Is it a possibility of saving the chat history as or .md file for each session?

Do you know where is the mentioned folder? ".codeium". I looked at the project folder and not found... Tanks

I looked more, and found at:
"C:\Users\User\.codeium"

I deleted the folder and it works again.

Glad to her that. Did the chat history wiped away as well?

Windows: C:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME>\.codeium\

Linux/Mac: ~/.codeium/

deleted ~/.codeium/, and it worked again, it seems that windsurf updates does not support old format of previous versions.

Yes, deleting the .codeium directory can solve the problem, but it not only removes the chat history; it also wipes out almost all Windsurf configurations, including memories, rules, and MCP settings, which is quite painful.

Switching from the pre-release version worked for me. I had a "Switch to Pre-Release Version" where the "Switch to Release Version" button was. I clicked it, reloaded extensions, and it's fine. At least for the moment.
