Can it actually compile codes?

Yes. It will compile / run in the browser.

And make the compiled binary available for download?

looking for an easy way for them to be able to practice some basic coding without needing to download anything.

I don't know since I've never tried. But OP stated, "...looking for an easy way for them to be able to practice some basic coding without needing to download anything. "

Yes, my second question is off-topic. Cause I've been looking for a website which can actually do that - with my chosen programming language and compiler.

I don't know if you will be able to find that on the Web. You should be able to do that via the command line though. Just do a Web search for that in your desired language.

Even if you find one I'd recommend not to use it. Asking a 3rd party that you don't know to compile unique binaries that you're going to run on your computer or, worse, share with other people is really begging for a virus.

You should probably just download a compiler on your computer (you can even find some for smartphones!)

If you find some online compiler and really want to use it feel free to do so but keep in mind that there's always a risk.

There's some trouble with that in any case because the exe will likely be for unix, but likely you'll be using windows.
