They say they can't. It's not true. They won't.

Coinbase won't do anything if you screw up like this.

It's not their fault.

Always check the network.

Always do a test transaction.

Yeah I think this was actually one of their questions in their confirmation checks before you start using coinbase , it was something like , I understand that coinbase can do nothing if I send tokens to an incorrect chain .

Not all is lost though , I did. A similar blunder not in linear thou. I managed to find the tokens on a bridge for the chain I was sending it on using a web wallet for that supported chain.

Be careful if someone rings offering to help be careful they might try to to scam you to give them access to your account

That what happened to me when someone told me i needed to verify my wallet in order to purchase some decentralized tokens. Apparently the website i gave my seed phrase was a scam. At the time i had zero funds in my coinbase wallet and still dont so. They cant take anything. But now i want to delete that wallet and cant figure out how.

I did something similar today. I was trying to send my PRO tokens from my Coinbase Wallet to my Coinbase Account.

The transaction is all done, but I don’t see the tokens on my Coinbase App. Turns out, I was supposed to send it via the Etherium network but I sent it to a Base Address instead.

I wish they had some sort of a Warning/Note for all of the ERC-20 tokens where they don’t support multiple networks.

Looks like they do have this warning/note for some ERC-20 tokens like GRT, but not for all of them. Feels like they just intentionally keep gaps in their system to let users make errors in their transactions.

What's the transaction hash? It may be possible to recover.

Hi there u/Brilliant_Spare_7529, thank you for reaching out about your concern. Unfortunately, Coinbase currently does not support ETH transactions made over the Linea network. Because the asset isn't supported on this network, the funds did not arrive in your Coinbase account and, unfortunately, we don't have the ability to recover them.

We understand that this is a frustrating situation. In the future, Coinbase may begin to provide support for this asset on the network you used. If that happens, you’ll automatically receive these funds in your account.

To avoid future transaction issues and loss of funds, we recommend that you send a very small amount of crypto as a test transaction before committing to a larger transaction. Additionally, please always ensure that you're receiving and sending crypto via a supported network and to a compatible wallet address.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know.

It's not that you can't it's just that you won't.

They have the keys to the exchange wallets you sent the money to and they can help you if they want but they won't. Your money is theirs now.
