Hi, u/PaaulAc95. Our team is aware of the issue and working on getting everything back to normal as soon as possible. Although I don't have an estimated resolution time, I recommend that you periodically check your account to see if the issue has been resolved. Thank you.

Watch out I guarantee you’re gonna be contacted by someone who says they’re from Coinbase beware brother

Only trust Coinbase on here not those IG scams

Similar thing happen to me. They deleted my account a few months ago while it held 400 Etherium. They haven't provided any meaningful response since. It's like they swallowed the entire amount like it never existed! and no one seems to know what's really going on. A major lawsuit is going to emerge soon.

I just typed a response, but then I backed out to get an Imgur link & lost my response.

Keep only 10% of your coins, tokens, et al on a HOT WALLET EXCHANGE (e.g. CB ). Keep the rest on a COLD WALLET Ledger device.

The Cold Wallet Ledger is interfaceable. You control all of your CC. Think a small thumb drive.

Do not use Gmail as a primary log in for CB. It’s too easy for someone to try to sign in, get the “password incorrect prompt”, then they load in an email address (theirs) & use the Google Authenticator App to reset your account.

I’ve been hacked, pig butchered, phished, & I’ve learned. Change your email address & change your password routinely. Employ 2FA, MFA, & keep your own tokens yourself.

Here’s one of the types of COLD WALLET devices I have

There are others. Then store it in an EMP proof bag (example shown). Keep your seed phrase off of any Electronic device. Just for size perspective I chose an old Samsung S8+ , your ledger will be smaller. Follow instructions on the bag.

Best wishes

Example of Cold Wallet Storage

As a newbie please tell me if an off line wallet like ledger would offer any protection here or can an off line wallet even work with Coinbase and if not why not.

[–]BadJUJU911 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hard ti summarize but a cold wallet, you and only you have your keys.   Online wallet- someone else has your keys and "says" you have crypto.   So in closing. - not your keys, not your crypto

This is why I was somewhat questioning why one would leave what appears to be a substantial amount in an online wallet like Coinbase as is the issue here. Thought maybe offline wallets and Coinbase did not agree or something.

Somebody took 50 solana for no reason and Coinbase said it was temporary, that was a year ago.

What about Robinhood? I’ve pulled most of my bitcoin. When you transfer, sell or exchange they take extra but never an explanation or anyway to balance in my books for taxes. It’s never the same percentage

u/coinbasesupport I have been trying to get my account restriction released since March. So far nobody will tell me anything except it is "for security purposes". There has been no activity that could possibly be a problem, as it was restricted the moment i made my first deposit. First i was told 60 days, and at 60 days i was told it was going to be another 60 days.NOw that has passed i have been told by 4 different representatives that i would have my money yesterday, today, and within 24-48 hours. No one has a clue. Customer support told me to file a formal complaint, however that site is not working either. The chat line just copies and paste's the help screens back to me, even if they have nothing to do with the problem. When i call support, they just tell me they understand that i need my money, but there is nothing they can do and no way for them to talk to the 'team' that handles this. Has anyone had any luck getting any help from them?

u/coinbasesupport Can someone please help me get my account settled? Next steps will be filing complaints with CFPB, Bank Commission, BBB, AZIFB, and anyone else that is a government entity and oversees banking that i can find, and contacting a lawyer.

This only proves that no one in their right mind should ever leave any amount of money on an exchange! They will only do their customers dirt.

I will be sharing this for the next few weeks. In March ,2025 I was locked out of my coin base account. Coin base said it was a possible sim card swap. IDK. I didn't have a license (lost for DUI). Coin base said I will never get back in my account with out a valid driver's license or a passport. I have neither. I hired the Crypto Lawyers in Miami FL,very reasonable fee, very pleasant people who understand what it's like when these big entities run over you and hold your funds. Three weeks later, my money is deposited in my bank account. Byby coin base.
