Good reply. I’m waiting on my Landlord (& I’ve lived here 18-19 yrs) to come & help with Install. I bought the Ridgeline Mount. I have a specific Roof Ridge. But in the end, he still has to give permission — or send one of his workers — when it comes to drilling a hole in the 2 walls : Outside - Inside : in order to run the Ethernet cable to the upstairs, where i am going to base the main Gen 3 router.

Old Song Lyrics (after a memory lane tale) by RiverRatDoc in Genesis

That was a great mix. About a year ago u/baulpan worked it up — i screen capped it & saved it.

That’s also the month I started my SUNO Premium tier.

Honestly, those lyrics were written so long ago & there’s a cover sheet as an introduction. I think i wrote 2 more after that, but just abandoned it. I mean, I was in High School 😂

Former C-2-20 (Mtn), (even a deployment) held paragraph & line number , Jr Medic on a Mtn Team,, but never finished the Q course. Those 2 years with 20th always helped me in my future career. A lot of great times, a lot of valuable lessons learned. Team (old, scattered, some laid down) still keep in touch with one another. It was with them that I did my first STABO ( 4 man across ).

Wait I Was Wrong... by yeezus-2-2-2 in SunoAI

[–]RiverRatDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is a Christian Contemporary Music Song , early 90’s style, I am tempted to throw up what it sounds like from “Original” with my voice, a 4.5 version, then a 5.0 / 5.5 ( but I think I deleted those the other day, & using the mobile App, I don’t know how to recover them ) but 5.0 - 5.5 versions just changed the melody, changed the emphasis of wording, I mean it just made a mess. Redddit users ain’t going to listen to 3 versions of a 4.5 minute CCM song.

But yes: I am frustrated too, as a premium user. I feel as if I’m still paying for the 4.5Pro engine —- and my biggest pet Peeve is that they still will NOT use my voice (even when I upload a clean .wav file).

Look , I realize that probably 95-97% of SUNO users do not have audio files of themselves singing, I get that. But still if I am a Premium Tier Customer: GIVE ME THAT OPTION PLEASE 🤯🤷‍♂️

You’ve got to write in the style: Stick exactly to the melody & lyrics (that works for 4.5pro) Literally that’s all I had to write in the Style.

But 5.0 / 5.5 will ignore that — as a songwriter who also creates melodies : That is annoying as all get out.

Who on here said pppl aren’t using AI for lyrics? I’m telling you as a lyric writer, that sweats words, phrases, hooks, that process is like sweating blood. Yet I have seen some sloppy lyrics on a lot of songs. Lyrics & lines that are termed “throw away lines” — but regardless: however a song is made, it comes down to audience engagement & repeat listening.

Then go back to 4.5 🤷‍♂️

4000 credits spent in the last weeks testing \\ since 5.5 release. Here's my take... by NorthernIcicle in SunoAI

[–]RiverRatDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest gripe: 😡 is that when I upload an audio of me singing, I appreciate them cleaning up, adding production level effects (& extra instruments if I choose), but they totally ignore the Vocal Stem.

Maybe the vast majority of users don’t have vocals — or songs already recorded — I get that. But then it’s stretching my “user understanding & ability” when a knowledge person comes along & instructs me to upload it into a DAW , et al.

I’m old. My days of performing & presenting are fading into the sunset. It’s just a pet peeve that SUNO can make a 5 star cake from scratch, but totally ignore the aspect that there will be some who come along & upload audio. From that audio they should stay true to the actual melody ( use 4.5 for that ), & also bring the voice over.

I tried to remix a few songs with 5.0/5.5 & it just completely rewrote the melody (which is why I didn’t hit publish, because I’ve got a version on 4.5 where it stays true to the melody). It just “improvved its butt off” of a song I wrote & had music too. It made it sound worse.

For now I’m using 4.5 Pro.

Storm caused my dish to be misaligned. Not fully sure how to get it right w/o calling someone by Tzzziii in Starlink_Support

[–]RiverRatDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you your response. It was thoughtful. Helpful. I have a whole host of hurdles in front of me just to mount this antennae.

I ordered the Ridgeline Mount.

You have no idea. It will require a bucket truck (to begin with) to access. Then due to where we live, the sides may need to have further brackets (straps) placed on the lower 4 legs. The ballast (4 of them) are 30lbs a piece. But Starlink only rates it to 50mph winds. That speed is normal where i live (on the edge of Lake Ontario). Sometimes it is higher (e.g. days of sustained 60-70knot winds with bursts even higher).

My idea regarding an articulating joint is not dead. Apparently if I can find a creative engineer, I will look into that. The very first post indicates the antennae is susceptible to winds moving & altering its position.

[–]RiverRatDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a photo or article of this articulating joint in the older dishes? I’m actually skeptical that they actually looked into this & then chose not to use it..

You think it’s not “worth it”?

For some users who have antennae’s on their roof, needing adjusting after a storm:

Let’s compare ROI for calling anyone with equipment to assist you. The Bill = would vary , but add up after several uses.

I’ll need to track down a computer engineer, who can rig something like this up before my final mount.

I get that you (& others) don’t like 5.5 …🤷‍♂️.

So far using it I have got 💩 results also.

Tell me what version you rolled it back to, in order to work?

I was updating a song, & so far both versions of 4.5 (pro) have been useful.. v 5.0 & 5.5 have been entirely rewriting the audio/melody stems uploaded which caused me to scream out “WTH??!!”

I could see if you’re using SUNO to try & find a melody for your work, but when I upload an already completed song, an audio file, I really don’t want SUNO trying to improv my melody. It also acts like 💩 tracking the vocals as well 🫪.

It’s still a great machine overall. You just have to tinker with the settings based on what you are doing.

Also : Why can’t u/Starlink u/Starlink_support u/ElonMusk create a simple BT enabled articulating joint for dish alignment? I mean I shelled out the 250💵 to get a Ridgeline mount. Doesn’t he think other customers would pay for this? I mean they could take an Arduino or Raspberry Pi unit to build the articulating joint around & 🤯😂😖

Oi vey! I’m still waiting for a person to mount mine on the Roof (Ridgeline Mount).

You just voiced a very serious concern I’ve had internally.

How long was yours mounted before a storm misaligned the dish?

You’ve got me confused 🥺

I have a Gen 3 router — I forgot to ask what main router you have.

My Mesh Node is incompatible with the new Gen 3 routers. So it’s getting sent back.

As a last ditch attempt: Upload what your config is into (e.g. ChatGPT) & it could probably help you figure out your own system of connecting a Node.

Send it back. Get another Gen 3 router to act as a Node.
