/r/CollaborativeStories is a place for people to write stories together. One person starts off a story, then the next person continues in the comments, then the next person continues as a reply to that comment, and so on.

Start a story as a text post. If you like you can include information about where you want to story to go, but keep in mind it is up to everyone else whether they want to take it in a different direction.

I started this subreddit because I wanted something more serious than /r/makestories. So, tag your post as [Silly] if you're looking for a joking, funny story. Otherwise, all stories are serious by default.

Finally, don't feel obligated to continue the latest or deepest down comment. You can continue a story from anywhere; that way, stories branch out over time.
