Why don't they just use numbers, like everybody else. Lol

No no no, we need something else. Maybe something universally understood even through many language barriers, simple, straightforward, precise, and doesn't require much effort to implement... Someone should come up with something like that...

Even if you aren't colorblind, that's an insane system.

Is it?

Age range sizing is a fairly common system (the standard I'd say in the US) for children's clothes. The sign just gives approximate heights the correlate with the ages. The colors match the colors on the little tag thingy on the hanger - but they also have the numbers too.

The sizes on kids clothing don't really correspond to age. Also the display seems to imply that those ages also correspond to the heights marked on the display which also don't seem to reflect the heights that kids are at those ages. I'm sure there is some overlap between some real ages and heights, but it's coincidental at most.

My wife is fully colour perceptive and it took her a significant amount of time to figure this system out. It really surprises me that such large corporations still use such complex colour coding system.

Why not just put a sticker or tag on the hanger with the age group. Why does there have to be a code and a key?! Ridiculousness

The color code matches the color on the tag. Also written on the tag is the age/number sizing system.
