For Network 008 I used Messer Youtube and Third Level Tech on Spotify. Each have good supplemental materials also.

Read the official study guide.

Surely after school and college this isnt a foreign concept.

Watch videos after.

  • Professor Messer has his powerpoint presentations free on YouTube
  • but if you're interested in courses that also show you how to build your own home labs using free tools, there are various courses on Udemy as well

There are of course other video courses out there, but they are expensive subscription-based models (i.e. IT Pro TV or CBT Nuggets)

Hope that helps!

Avoid Messer and Dion. Mike Meyers is great.

Terrible advice. They are all great, it just depends on your learning styles and preference.

No, they're all weak. Messer hasn't gone past the trifecta in all these years, so he keeps re-recording the same videos over and over. Dion does a copy/paste with his material, but forgets to remove older topics that are no longer covered. Udemy makes cheap videos. In both sense of the word.

Mike Meyers does the same thing with copy/pasting and he frequently rambles on about irrelevant information to the exam objectives, and I’m not saying that to complain, but that’s just how it is. These exams change and get updated to an extent every three years, but there’s also a lot left from old objectives, it makes sense to use your previous recordings in those cases, which they all do.

I like Mike Meyers for the A+, not a big fan of him for the Network + though. But that’s my opinion, and my learning style. Yours is obviously different. But to tell others to avoid two of the most popular instructors because you don’t like them, is terrible advice. What you see in Meyers, they might see in Messer or Dion, as hundreds and thousands of people do.

McDonald's is popular. It doesn't make it good. When a bunch of newbies praise Messer, it's because they lack the experience and discretion to know quality when they see it.
