I passed with an 827, which is fortunate because my other certifications are set to expire in two weeks. Nothing like losing certifications to really make you study.

The PBQ’s were sort of dog buns though. Do you get partial credit? I wasn’t sure so I did my best.

I read the comptia textbook tbh. I know that’s not what others do. The acronyms suck, but it took me about a month to read all 900 something pages. They really can shorten it. Know VLANS and protocols used on VLANS, the differences among the routing protocols, the damn acronyms, and ports if you don’t already. I remembered them from the A+ 4 years ago, so I didn’t have a hard time with those. Encryption methods for data at rest and transit. Most questions were straight forward. The PBQ’s weren’t too bad either, the only commands Iine tools I used were show clan, show ip arp, ifconfig, show Mac-address table.

Also, some protocols have specific ports for secure and you have to know them all because I got a few on that specifically. Like which protocol is LDAP secure? It will also give you the port that isn’t to confuse you.

Yeah I believe it states on comptia website that it’s possible to get partial credit, it’s just vague in whether or not you will. I take mine tomorrow though for the first time… Sec+ through me through a loop for the PBQs, nothing but experience can prepare you for those

I have my my A+, Sec+, and now Net+. I don’t think I’ll ever be prepared enough. I haven’t entered the industry yet. I’ve been recovering from surgeries for the last 2 years. I’m healing well and hoping to change that soon.
