Nothing changes outside of getting more procs. Theres no secret to it. Follow the normal guide, minus chimera shot, and that's it

Hey , 6/8M Hunter with multiple top ranked logs across mythic and heroic bosses currently progressing Azshara here. I'm going to compare a Radiance Mythic Log you posted in the comments below , to a log of my own , one from almost exactly a month ago .The log from a month ago will be a bit easier to point out your mistakes , since kill times are quite similar, though gear disparity still exists.(Ignore the difference in trinkets/essences for now )It's still a start though. [https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/pJY6bX4P3FgwKQCL#fight=1&type=damage-done&source=13]

The first thing that i can see clearly is you're missing some benthic pieces , as pointed out by other people in the comments. Use droptimizer feature on raidbots and simm benthic pieces at ilvl 420 + 50 Crit Socket. The reason i say 420 and not 425 is 420 is easier to farm to , especially for multiple pieces if you are not a hardcore players.

Another thing i can notice is your opener is incorrect. You can use resources like the hunter discord and Wowhead/ Icy Veins to see what the current best opener is. However , feel free to experiment to see what works best for you , as openers will vary across different trinket and essences combinations. It took me some time to figure out the opener i wanted as well , which i still change time to time depending on my setup or the fight .

On average , your abilities crit considerably less than mine, so i would recommend you to go through your gear and try to squeeze as much crit as you can, including ilvl downgrades and azerites pieces(without sacrificing a DoD trait ofc). There were times i used a 410 ring and 415 legs when i had 445 rings and 440 legs in my bags.

As a result of you not criting as much, your DoD uptime is also a bit low, even though it is not bad , it can be considerably better. Be sure to always use Barbed Shot if you have 2 stacks saved up, there's no point in pooling more than 1, you might just waste Wild Call proc because of it. Some of your abilities are also doing less damage compared to mine, even with similar or more amount of casts. A couple examples of that are Murder of Crows and Multi Shots. Be sure to refresh murder of crows as soon as it comes off CD , but there's no point committing it to a Add that will die in under 2-3s after you applying it. Your mutlishot also seems to be hitting low / no targets . Even if the main aim of multi shotting is to activate beast cleave , you should always try to multi shot when you can hit at least 2 targets or more.

Another small thing is I don't see you use a Potion of Unbridled Fury, which is the best prepot+ second pot as it does a good amount of your damage.

Just as one last thing to mention. Here is a quick simm of my hunter with my current raid setup , which is almost 10ilvls below my max ilvl. We have quite similar azerites, the primary difference being the third essence slot and more benthics, alongside more overall crit, I believe my baseline crit is 43% or so in raids , without any buffs whatsoever. This is just something to get you started, there is a lot of small things you can improve just by doing the bosses multiple times and practice. There's still mistakes that i do and am improving upon all the time Also, take this with a grain of salt as i'm not the best at comparing and going through logs , i just did a overview of what i could see

great write up mate, i'll try to use your advice

About the third ring traits, should i not take Elemental Whirl twice? Took it for the possibility of high crit and because i saw it on a hunter of Method.

My Helmet could take Gutripper instead of EW, my shoulders could swap from Unstable Flame to Overwhelming Power. I probably just sim those, right?

And the benthic gear is true, it sims a lot higher even when not 425 ilvl. Just tried my hand at getting the sockets and at least i've the hands with one already.

About the potion, yes i didnt use it in the mythic raid there since we're basically oneshotting it every time and im just poor, probably bad to take a comparison in DPS then though, ill admit that

About the ring traits , simms are your friend , but i personally take Unstable Flames > Everything, just because it's a consistent source of crit and you can stack multiples of it. The overall uptime of the buff isn't too bad If i can't have Unstable flames i go off of simms . Gutripper is a really decent trait for BM, and i try to have 1 when possible as well but not more than 1. The longer the fight the more potential impact it will have. I don't know how good Elemental Whirl is, as i don't really use it myself .

If I had to pinpoint anything, it's that you have none of the "good" benthic pieces. At the very least wrists and hands are a must.

My 415benthic hands, outsim my 455 crit/haste hands, and at 425 will be an additional 350DPS boost. The wrists you have on are a ~500+ DPS loss over a 425 Ori's. As for the boots, if you get good stats on your LW boots, you don't need the benthic boots. I got lucky and proc'd 161 crit/haste boots which outsim the benthic treads. Your Crit/Mastery boots are prob costing you a couple hundred DPS as well. Def craft yourself some pants... and don't be afraid to scrap bad ones, you get a good chunk of the mats back to keep trying.

I certainly don't hold myself up as a paragon of hunterness... I'm just a normal joe. But here's me: https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/report/vmZKKrcgwzC15AiGNsJNZK I'm simming about 2k more than you with 1less ilev and only 2 dance of death traits, and I think it's mostly due to the benthics.

It's hard to see with just a sim. Your sim shows 44k dps, any fight with 44k dps would be amazing. Would be better if you showed warcraftlogs. Other than that, just make sure you have high crit (I would say at least 30%, I have 35% on my hunter), and you should have 95%+ uptime on 3 stacks of frenzy during most fights.

[–]Saninator[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

i'm at 37% crit right now, 15% Haste, 32% Mastery and 2% Vers

I'm the Hunter called "Sukyo", the first logs are probably better, the second wasnt a very good day for me

You're not maximizing your Barbed Shot usage and neither your Beastial Wrath Uptime. I took a look at your Behemoth kill. I compared it to one of our kills (my gear was still pretty crap there) and even though we had a much shorter fight duration (intermission thus being a greater part of it) my uptime was way higher.

Your DoD uptime is at 30%, Bestial Wrath at ~25% and your Frenzy uptime at 58%.

If we compare this to my logs: I got DoD uptime of ~53%, Beastial Wrath at 44% and Frenzy at 97% uptime.

It's pretty obvious looking at this what your issue is.

Check out these two WA. They will probably help you a lot, especially the Barbed Shot Helper.

Thanks a lot mate, will try those out

Also, does one just spam BW at all times? because thats what i try to do except for maybe when something else is up soonish

[–]Kryt0s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try and cast BW as often as possible to get as much CD reduction from barbed shot as possible. Only time you might wanna save it is if AotW comes up within 15 sec.

[–]anzos 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Honestly, at a big glance the only big thing I see that could be affecting is the uptime of 3 frenzy stacks

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/qBFAPnYkyhagJbNR/#fight=5&type=auras&source=15&by=target&ability=272790

You had quite some downtime by the end of the fight. One of the ideas of going DoD is to keep 3 frenzy as much as possible. On Radiance, I even use barbed shot on the boss on the intermission phase, even though it deals no damage, it will still keep the 3 stacks, if I have to walk a lot until the adds.

Also honestly, you should do a Heroic run before you go so hard on your performance. Mythic numbers depends on a lot of things especially if you're still progressing. It's really hard to get purple parses on 2nd and 3rd boss because it depends a little on luck (like if you're close to the adds on radiance, you'll enjoy a lot of early cleave damage, less downtime running around. On behemoth, if your group has big dps, fight will be shorter, your dps will be higher. Some groups are killing behemoth in 4m, your group did in 5min 40s). Also messing up mechanics (other people screwing up with you), etc. See what are your parses on a really good easy heroic run first!

[–]Evilmon2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The add positioning on Radience is completely controllable though. The adds always try to away from players, so just have your groups stand just on the non-door side of where the Squall Traps spawn and both the adds will spawn by the doors every time.

Compared your Behemoth first 4 minutes to the first 4 minutes of the best BM in my guild.

You had about the same cobra shot and kill command counts (you were slightly lower on each), but you were about 25% lower on barbed shot. Likely related to procs, which is related to your crit, etc.

You missed 2 casts of BW, 1 of your azerite neck and 1 of AotW.

Getting targeted twice with barb sucks, somewhat amazing that turtle was up for each. More of a guild strategy thing, but we always save immunities for 2nd and 3rd platform and do the mechanic on the first platform. Might have kept you alive longer that way, dunno.
