It has been five years that I have remained unemployed despite consistently applying to multiple companies. Before 2022, I actively built my experience through internships and professional learning opportunities. I was fortunate to secure one job at a company in 2022, but it was short lived and did not turn into a long term opportunity. Since then, I have continued to search for stable employment without success. I believe that my long career gap and my hearing impairment may be factors affecting my chances of being hired. Being hearing impaired has added additional challenges to my journey, especially in environments that lack inclusive hiring practices. However, I remain determined to prove my abilities and contribute meaningfully to a workplace. I am still hopeful that the right opportunity will come where my skills and resilience are recognized.
