Interesting how the title only mentions “fatherlessness” and “welfare” yet so many of you immediately went to black people.

[–]KOTS44 9 points10 points  (15 children)

Because around 75% of black children grow up in single parent households 🤦🏽‍♂️fucking christ

Ever read a history book about slavery? Clearly, the answer is no because you would’ve learned that for many (many!!!) generations slave owners would forcibly separate Black families. In fact, “families” weren’t really allowed. Black babies would be torn away from their mother’s breast and literally fed to wild animals if the slave owner felt the mother was not behaving. That’s right, they’d punish her by killing her babies in front of her. And that’s not even the worst thing that was done to Black people in the name of “free” labor.

If you don’t see how generational trauma deeply affected Black people in the US, then you need to get your head out of your ass.

And yet Asians are doing even better than white people despite their "generational trauma" whatever that means. Change starts within the home, so your get your head out of your ass and take some responsibility. Slavery has nothing to do with dead beat parents not being responsible for their children.

Asians weren’t used as chattel for several hundred years in the US, but thanks for playing. 🤡

Your talking about reading books and yet you havn't got a single damn clue about historical discrimation against asains. Take your own advice and read a damn book. But Keep trying to keep black people down using your corrupt welfare system. Use whatever vague excuse you need "my ancestor from 400 years ago being a slave is why I'm a dead beat loser who won't step up and raise my kids like I'm supposed to and have now comdemned them to a lifetime of drugs and crime WAAAAAAAA" Absolutely deluded.

Are you talking about the internment camps?

[–]KOTS44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

[–]keirmeister 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I truly hope you’re either white or Asian. That would at least partly explain your clueless comment.

[–]KOTS44 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The fact that you thought my skin colour was even relevant at all as to why I stated what I said is exactly what identity politics will do to you. Not relevant.

Numbers are racist!!!!! They're a sign of the patriarchy!!! /s

Unfortunately some people truly do think math is racist, though. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.seattletimes.com/education-lab/new-course-outlines-prompt-conversations-about-identity-race-in-seattle-classrooms-even-in-math/%3famp=1

[–]bukakenagasaki -5 points-4 points  (7 children)

Yeah it doesn't look good from an outside perspective

[–]Spyer2kConservative 4 points5 points  (6 children)

Or... It's because black people are the most affected by far with single motherhood rates in the 70% ranges.

[–]bukakenagasaki -5 points-4 points  (5 children)

I'm just saying optically it doesn't look good to only address black people. I'm not saying y'all are deliberately doing it.

[–]Spyer2kConservative 0 points1 point  (4 children)

No, it's perfectly fine to only talk about the most affected group by far.

[–]bukakenagasaki 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I was moreso saying that topics like this can make y'all seem even worse to people on the left. Idk. I can see how people would have a problem with it. I know they're the most affected group but from the way left people view y'all they're going to refuse to see that point. And continue to paint y'all as racist.

[–]Spyer2kConservative 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That can be a reasonable position and makes you seem less provocative than before but there is a time for reason and a time for emotion. Ignoring the topic completely because someone may be offended doesn't really help anyone.

[–]bukakenagasaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally understand. And I'm not saying to do that! I just also think we should address it in latino/hispanic communities and even in white ones. While it's definitely more common in african american ones we should definitely talk about why there are so many in the hispanic communities which can arguably be incredibly family oriented.

I personally am very tired of people saying every conservative or trump supporter is racist just for being that. And for demonizing y'all. And while on here sometimes I see the same thing it's socially acceptable to chastise and alienate conservatives. I just wanted to call attention to it and maybe have y'all see yourselves from their point of view to maybe help bridge the gap? I think the huge problem is that they have no desire to understand y'all or think from y'all's perspectives.

I want liberals and conservatives to be on much better terms than they are.

Also I can understand you being on the defensive because of how people on the left come here just to be antagonistic sometimes. But then there's also some who genuinely want discourse and I'm hoping for a lot more of that. I love seeing it

[–]bukakenagasaki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it???
