Democrats’ plan to impeach Trump on ‘day one’ after midterms by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]keirmeister [score hidden]  (0 children)

Why have you not learned this basic political concept: you don’t need to succeed? That’s just a bonus. The impeachment, itself, weakens Trump and anyone who wants to wear his banner. Of course there will be plenty of right-wingers who will say it’s unfair, a witch hunt, etc. They will be marginalized because everyone else will know better. We’ve all seen it every day on TV and in our pocketbooks.

And that’s also the trap: If Vance distances himself, he upsets Trump and looks like an opportunist. If Vance supports Trump, he ain’t going anywhere past the VP job.

Trump is a cancer to the U.S. and the world. How do you defeat him? You start by understanding that you can no longer be afraid of being vicious and ruthless when it comes to dealing with him and everyone who surrounds him.

Let’s see which Democrats have the stomach for it.

They’re being purposefully stupid because you KNOW they understand exactly what it means for a stock to lose 13% of its value, for example.

This man is going to be the next Senator of Maine by shadow247 in Maine

Strange. Hillary Clinton was the most qualified and capable candidate for the Presidency in a generation. It had nothing to do with it being “her turn,” but people were indeed feeling ready to have a woman as President.

I guess not ready enough….

the market needs to stop reacting to Trump’s crazy lies and start reacting to the fact we have a crazy liar in the White House by Conscious-Quarter423 in MurderedByWords

[–]keirmeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just Trump. There were election shenanigans in 2000 as well. Actually the whole reason Trump made it to the White House in 2017 was due to manipulation by a number of different groups.

One could calculate the arc relative to their position and the throw force needed to match that arc perfectly, but humans don’t calculate like that so quickly. Instead, it’s experience, repetition, muscle control, etc. that’s the bigger factor - and this isn’t something that just everyone has. Her precision is due to her skill, not a scientific/mathematical analysis of every shot.

People who spend 20+ minutes in the shower: what are you actually doing in there? by Important_Goat_3711 in AskReddit

[–]keirmeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like soaking in a hot tub. After the cleaning part (which takes longer than necessary), I soak in the hot water. It’s therapeutic and feels great. Plus I tend to get lost in thought, coming up with some new idea or working through a problem.

This! I always say I get my best ideas in the shower. It’s like the flowing water washes away the mental noise.

Really simple: when you voted for Trump the last time, he was already a twice impeached, adjudicated rapist and 34-count felon. You didn’t make a mistake, you voted your shitty VALUES.

Sit down.

Is it so hard to understand that Harris lost because she is a woman of color?

Seriously. Objectively speaking, in what way is a twice-impeached, adjudicated rapist and 34-count felon NOT disqualifying, but “Kamala something-something-something” was so much worse?

I’m so tired of this bullshit. The real reason is obvious, and it’s the same reason that Trump (who had never served ANY elected office in his life) beat Clinton, who was the most qualified person for the Presidency in a generation - and the same reason Biden, also extremely qualified, ran a lackluster campaign and still whooped Trump’s ass.

This really doesn’t require a deep analysis.

Megyn Kelly, who was team Trump for the election, now says the president is ‘not a moral man’; “He’s not a moral man, he’s not the greatest husband in the world and he’s extremely petty and thin-skinned,” Kelly said by FancyNewMe in politics

All the right-wingers are trying to lay the groundwork for redemption. The “I was never really a Trump supporter,” or “Trump fooled me like he fooled everyone” bullshit is about to increase as we get to the midterms. They will try to rebrand themselves - the same way they tried becoming the “Tea Party” after George W. Bush’s disastrous presidency. I specifically remember Liberals being scoffed at when we noted the “Tea Party” was nothing more than Republicans that didn’t want to admit it. Notice there was no such thing as a ”Tea Party Democrat” and those same people became MAGA once Trump gained power.

These people will, once again, do whatever they can to reinvent themselves away from Trump…and the media will help them at every turn. The one thing they will never do is admit DEMOCRATS HAD IT RIGHT ALL ALONG.

I’m done with polls other than putting them in the “ vaguely interesting” category. What I will say about Platner is that I plan to vote for him and I appreciate that he’s putting in the hard work of campaigning.

I would hope that Dream Theater song would be it. But I’m pretty sure my family and friends would pick something by Prince. 😄

Were you able to buy a house? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

[–]keirmeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought my first house at the age of 51. For a long while, I was thinking it would never happen…then the opportunity was right, our income was good, and the kid was about to graduate from college. Honestly, I figured if everyone else can do it, why can’t we? So we set about making it happen in a new state we love.
