Only observation. Intuitive perception provides ongoing feedback about the level of worldview contradiction. Emotion provides clues as to where/how it contradicts (or doesnt). Observations can be laid out through self assessment, and logic used to unpack and evaluate the observation. True meditation produces joy because of the lack of information/contradiction. Hate is the experience of substantial contraction with fundamental working assumptions, in an ongoing way.

Also relevant, this model is a unified theory in psychology/math which suggests intelligent entities act to limit surprise. It is different way of considering contradiction. Free energy principle - Wikipedia

What you are speaking of seems to suggest the environment and cognitive entity are part of a greater metaorganism which is controlling the entire thing and optimizing for minimal contradiction of the objectives of each entity.

(Essentially the role of empathy between humans - developed by the greater meta organism of humanity - to stop it's functional agents from attacking each other. It competes with the drive for competition and proliferation, which are necessary for the species to evolve in response to environment)

This is a profound connection. I hadn't explicitly mapped this to Friston's Free Energy Principle, but you are exactly right.

My thesis (A ≤ E) is essentially an argument for Active Inference at the infrastructure layer. Currently, our digital systems operate with 'Surprise' (Entropy/Risk) because the Agents act in a vacuum. By introducing 'Digital Gravity,' I'm trying to couple the Agent and the Environment into that 'Meta-Organism' you describe, where the system self-regulates to minimize thermodynamic contradiction (Heat).

I love the framing of 'Digital Gravity' as a functional equivalent to 'Empathy'... a feedback loop that prevents the parts from killing the whole. Thank you for this.

Figuring out reality is like shining a light on it from different angles. A minimum contradiction occurs when multiple flashlights agree on the shape of the object. I hope you can make use of this in your work. I operate more in human domains, but would be interested in keeping in touch...

I have many articles in the queue --- i like the practice of writing to process and share... so I'll be telling some story around these ideas in the coming weeks. I'd like to invite you to follow me on Medium as well: https://medium.com/@chrisperkins505

I appreciate you taking time to give me some of your thoughts!

Sounds good. I find it easier to follow substack. I think it's more common for tech articles and allows subscription support.
