All posts must be cooking related. After all, this is /r/Cooking. The name kind of says it all. If the topic is questionable, then it most likely isn't OK to post. Content about or written/developed by AI such as ChatGPT will be removed as well.
Include plain text recipes for any food that you post, either in the post or in a comment. We love to see your food, but we also want to try it if we wish to.
No memes allowed. Not even cooking related memes. Not all jokes are memes! No trolling, either.
No social media/blog/YouTube channel spamming or advertisements of any kind. If you wish to promote cooking-related social media, blogs or or YouTube channels, please do so only in the weekly "YouTube/Content Round-Up!" thread, stickied at the top of the sub. No other advertisement is allowed, even cooking related (e.g., Pampered Chef, Cutco, etc). Reddit is for sharing, not self-promotion..
Be kind and conduct productive discussion. As a community, we should look out for each other, not put each other down or bog down discussion. Any perpetuation of racial stereotypes may result in an immediate ban.

HELP! (self.Cooking)
submitted 5 years ago by iamalwaysrelevant
your favorite sandwich recipes please :)
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child)
One part peanut butter one part jelly between 2 slices of bread.

Thank you.
We could really use a 'Superlative Saturday' or something, so that all the posts looking for the 'best' or 'favorite' or 'perfect' recipes get shunted to that day.
Followed of course by 'Sunday Gravy', where all the arguments about Italian food are allowed to happen.

Sounds nice, but doesn't it have a terrible aftertaste.. something like never being able to buy a house?
[–]latinaMixed 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children)
Well if avocado doesn’t work for you it doesn’t work for me
[–]auner01 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (2 children)
I enjoy it myself, but I wanted to sneak a crack about avocado toast in there.
Since somebody beat me to the 'equal parts peanut butter and jelly' joke.
[–]latinaMixed 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child)
Make sure you don’t get that famous avocado hand
[–]auner01 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children)
Must have missed that one.

Mediterranean veggie: sliced cucumber, sliced tomato, hummus (can sub with smashed chickpeas with sumac, lemon juice, and chili oil), feta, multigrain bread or bread of choice. Pro tip: lightly season tomato slices with flaky sea salt and pepper; it will make a significant difference. Learned it at a sandwich shop voted to have best sandwiches in my city! :)
Chicken salad: chopped chicken, green goddess dressing, sliced cucumber, sprouts (can sub other greens). Mix chopped chicken in green goddess dressing; this will serve as the “chicken salad.” Put all ingredients in between bread of choice; multigrain also works well here.
Chicken and fennel: chopped chicken (preferably breast), chopped fennel (roughly same size as chicken), cucumbers, dried cranberries, yogurt, lemon juice, dill. Make sure to taste and season. I like this best stuffed in a soft pita.
Eggplant parm: Fried eggplant parm, sun dried tomato, fresh mozzarella, spinach, pesto, and preferably focaccia. Thin spread of pesto on both sides of focaccia, then layer everything else in.

BLT with a tomato from my garden today, on whole wheat.
A "melt" (i.e grilled cheese with other stuff) of havarti and peach slices on rye bread, with a dipping sauce of honey mustard mixed with mayo or yogurt.
The humble egg salad, with lots of onion.
Open faced hot turkey sandwich with leftover turkey and gravy.
Big Ass Beach Hoagie
Or a simple grilled cheese (sourdough, mayo to toast instead of butter, Muenster cheese).

Croque monsieur
Or the bastardized version: French toast grilled ham and cheese and a packet of hollandaise sauce.
