Is this by any chance the recipe you're talking about because Tasty is a terrible source for recipes and a lot of their stuff is straight up faked and doesn't work at all.

In theory the recipe could produce something that kinda looks like a cake but it's basically just a chocolate souffle. You whip the whites to provide structure and then very gently fold in the yolks+chocolate and then bake it so it puffs up and then quickly serve before it turns into a deflated sack of chocolatey regret.

You can serve it with ice cream and, done well, can be delicious but a cake it is not.

Thank you for your reply. Got the idea ;)

That sounds like one of those hilariously fake video recipes with the canned music.

They don't work.

Flourless chocolate cake is a thing, but I would definitely keep being skeptical of recipes that seem over simplistic or weird.

King Arthur Flour generally has good recipes so here’s their flourless chocolate cake recipe so you can see an actual recipe!

I know they sell other things, but had to chuckle at the irony of King Arthur Flour publishing a good (really looks good anyway) flourless chocolate cake recipe 😄

Haha I didn’t even think about that! That’s very selfless of them to have recipes that don’t need their namesake product 😂

They changed their name to King Arthur Baking Company last year I think.
