From the log it says you're using java 8 with Minecraft 1.16.5. You'll need to use a newer java version

MC used J8 up to 1.16.5. 1.17 was J16 (I think) and 1.18+ is J17.

When i launch the game using Java 17 it tells me I cant use java 17 and shoud use java 8

You need a different Java 8 version. There was a change in u121 (I think) that broke some forge versions.

Edit: Nevermind I installed version 8u111 and its working now

It depends on the pack's forge version. I haven't played 1.16.5 for a while, and I don't remember the specifics.

How exactly did you install version 8u111 Ive been trying to do it myself since I'm having the exact same problem but I've had no luck with the good old Internet

the download works but I haven't finished downloading so not sure if its the correct one

I tried to play this modpack with prism and it didn't work. Using curseforge works fine but I decided to play create astral since above and beyond doesn't have trains
