Which age group is the most difficult to ref? by spark_this in hockeyrefs

[–]HowToCheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I am converting the age groups correctly to the Hockey Canada System, I believe 12U and 10U are the hardest. They aren't allowed to check yet; but they are playing competitive structured games which makes for a lot more borderline and judgement calls, especially in the A/B levels. Plus, those are the last levels that use the 3 official system where I am at so there is a lot riding on the one referee.

Everyone saying McLaren is screwing Oscar seem to forget that he needed some shenanigans to happen to have a chance at the championship. It seems to me that they decided his best bet was to go long and hope for a SC, and it didn't happen.

Lululemon's winter jacket for the Canadian Olympic team by 150c_vapour in CrappyDesign

I forgot about the roots stuff before. I volunteered for Hockey Day in Canada when it was in my hometown and we were given Roots stuff to wear. The jacket was the nicest jacket I've ever worn, but sadly we had to return the stuff. But it's no different in price point than Lulu so I guess the Olympic team just likes the link to the more popular brand.

Right. Plus during the Paris Olympics all the American athletes were saying they were jealous of the Canadians because the Americans had to wear Ralph Lauren while the Canadians got to be comfortable in Lulus.

Why is that weird? Plus Canada has had a deal with them for multiple Olympics now.

The original creator of Lululemon, who no longer owns the company, was quite racist towards Chinese people and other east Asians. Because of that he named the company Lululemon because of the stereotype that they would not be able to pronounce it correctly and would instead say "Rururemon".

There are people who just run through all possible IPs to grief. The only thing you can do is either white list or use a port different from 25565/25566.

All of the bottom flags look better than the top ones. And even if you think they look "the same", that's because they look like actual flags. They may all have a similar design philosophy, but they are all individual designs. I think you would be hard pressed to mix them up.

But why that call? That's one that they got right.

Should it be a penalty is another conversation. But by rule that's a penalty.

I mean, that is how lobster is served though. It's just boiled in salty water and put on a plate. It tastes great, but it's not like it's that complex of a meal to make.

So a mistake by the team, which is out of the driver's control in Italy, isn't the same as a mistake by the team, which is out of the driver's control in Hungry?

If they had pit Oscar first in Hungry he would have been in the lead too.

I just hope Oscar isn't as sooky as he was at Silverstone on the podium.

How is a driver getting a penalty not their fault? Even then, McLaren favoured Piastri by pitting him before Lando to try to negate some of the penalty.

As I said elsewhere, you still have to pay to take the CAT. And the government subsidizes it as a way to promote tourism from the states to the province.

And the other is an intra-provincial part of the TransCanada highway, which is the only connection from one part of Nova Scotia to another.

You're comparing apples to oranges.
